The Score: Spectrum saves Frostline. Spectrum: 3 Mysterons: 2.
Mysteron Reconstructions: Eddie, the maintenance man and his truck (lost in avalanche twice).
Spectrum Losses: 1 SPV crashed.
Collateral Damage: 250 men die at Red Deer. 71 die at Cariboo.
When Blue tells White that Frost Line is locking them out, Captain Scarlet's communication light on the colonel's desk is lit, but he wasn't talking to him at the time.
At the beginning of the episode, the maintenance truck crashes of the cliff but doesn't explode (as is usual for Captain Scarlet vehicles), yet at the end of the episode when the Mysteron copy of the truck does the same, it goes up in flames. As the two trucks were identical and were both carrying liquid oxygen, both should have exploded when they crashed.
It seems odd that a trained soldier like the guard at the Big Bear Base wouldn't be able to recognize Spectrum when he saw it given that both the SPV that pulled up and the two men that got out were covered in Spectrum insignia.
Colonel White says he's sure that if another Frost Line base had been attacked General Ward would have launched his missles at Mars. However, there's nothing to be sure about; Ward had told him exactly that would happen earlier.
Scarlet says that to enter one of the Frost Line domes they should go through the airlock. However as they are "sealed domes", as stated earlier, that would be only way in short of blowing a hole in the wall or crashing into it with the SPV.
General Ward asks Colonel White if the Mysterons are serious in their threats. Surely a man in his position would have heard about the kidnapping of the World President, the attempted destruction of London and the killing of the Director General of the United Asian Republic.
The maintenance truck was supposed to be carrying liquid oxygen, but as it crashed off the cliff it could be seen to contain a large plastic bag.
Captain Scarlet fires at a mountain to create an avalanche which causes Eddie's maintenance truck to topple down into a crashing explosion. He fires one shot, and a shot of the mountain being damaged follows, then he fires another two shots, and the shot which follows this shows the two damage effects, and the shot quickly changes to the snow featuring all numbers of splits, lines and cracks which weren't seen in the previous shot, even though it's taken from the exact same camera angle.
Mysterons: This is the voice of the Mysterons. We know that you can hear us Earthmen. Our next strike is imminent. We will show you how weak you really are. Within the next four hours, we will destroy key links in your Frost Line Outer Space Defense System. We will be avenged.
Colonel White: Believe me, before this day is out, you'll need all the help you can get.
This is the first episode in which Captain Black does not play an active role.
