Captain Z-RO

Show Summary

Captain Z-RO and his sidekick Jet travel through the past in their time shifting rocket ship, chasing villains and teaching the history of the United States and it's colorful heroes. Captain Z-RO started as a 15 minute live show airing on KRON TV in San Francisco, CA in November, 1951, as a weekly series. From 1953 to 54, the 15 minute live weekly show aired on KTTV, Los Angeles, for 26 weeks. Then for it's forth season, the show went to tape for 26 half hour episodes in 1954-55, filmed by the San Francisco group, Captain Z-RO Corporation. In 1955, the show enjoyed some syndication around the country winning national awards for being a top quality kids show, but lack of experience by the distributor eventually lead to the shows demise in 1956.

Finally a show that has a likable main female character. Captain Z-RO is smart, cunning, and a little trickster. You never know what she is going to do next. Unlike The characters she does not get everything she wants and then whines about. Unlike the Vampire she isn’t blessed with special powers and does nothing but complain about them. SHOW powers are her brains and wit. She works for what she wants. Though I think wanting he is wrong because even though he is cute he is also pretty dull. he would be a much better match for her.moreless
