In class, there is a new transfer student, Eli Moon, who is placed next to Li. He says hi to Sakura, confusing her. It starts to rain and Sakura is at home. Kero says it's strange the weather changed so quickly. Then Sakura's drawer starts to glow. Clow Reed tells her she will begin a new journey and the Clow Book will have Sakura's name, only Sakura hears Clow's voice. Sakura and Kero look at the book and see her name on it, and the book is now pink. Then Sakura senses something else. The news report is talking about the rain being confined to Readington. Sakura and Kero and Madison are outside. Sakura says they have all the Clow Cards and wonders what it could be causing the disturbance. A whirlpool forms in the sky and a huge splash of water attacks Madison. Kero changes into his true form, protecting Madison while Sakura runs from more splashes of water. Kero tells Sakura to use her magic. Sakura then enchants but it won't work, the staff is not listening to her. The water chases her again. Kero then senses something that he has not sensed in ages, but says it could not be. The next day at school, it's still raining. Sakura is talking to Li. Li says something is going on and whoever or whatever is behind it has stronger powers than theirs. From their school, Tori and Julian look out the school window. Julian says that Tori is correct that Li and Sakura do spend a lot of time together. Tori says to Julian he has to tell him something. Then this girl pops up and is bothering Tori. After Tori leaves, the girl stares at Julian and asks if he remembers her. Julian is confused and the girl says that it is going to be easier than she thought, and runs off. Now Eli is talking to Spinner. He says they'll find out if Sakura has what it takes. Then that same girl, Ruby, comes up and asks how long the mission will take, but adds that it will be a piece of cake. Eli gets his staff out and makes Ruby and Spinner go to there true forms, saying they can finally get to the task at hand. It's raining and Madison, Sakura, Yue, and Kero are outside, and Sakura asks her staff to work. Sakura asks Yue if he thinks Clow Reed is behind this, he says he doesn't. The splashing water is back and is after Sakura, Yue saves her by making a shield but the water goes right through the shield; he drops Sakura so she is not hit by the water. Sakura enchants again but the Staff still does not work. The splashes hit Kero, paralyzing him and Kero says the force is stronger than both Yue and himself. Now the splashing water gets Sakura, trapping her in a water tornado; everyone is also trapped in one. If Sakura doesn't hurry, they'll all drown. Sakura looks at her staff. Then Sakura starts to glow, and Yue says he must help her but Kero says she must fight her power herself. Sakura realizes the staff works on the power of her star, not Clow magic, and that she has been calling the wrong words. She then does a new incantation, and the staff works and she breaks free of the tornado. Sakura calls out Firey, but it did not work. Sakura realizes the book and staff changed and maybe the cards need to change too. She then enchants, calling on Firey as a "Star Card" and it works. The firey evaporates the water tornadoes it stops raining. The card returns to her but is different, then sakura falls asleep. Kero says the cards are going to draw their power from Sakura's magic and Yue adds says that will drain her energy. Up in the sky, Eli, Ruby, and Spinner observe.
