Sakura is in battle with the Arrow Card and appears to be losing. She gets the chance to summon Windy and successfully captures it.
Sakura and Kero are asleep. The Clow Book glows as Sakura dreams. In the dream (different than the ones she has in the show), Sakura is in a room with windows at the ceiling, allowing light to come in. Water droplets fall, creating ripples on the waters surface, which Sakura is standing on. Ribbons come up and ensnare her, dragging her underwater without resistance from Sakura. While underwater, Sakura hears "Water is something that is ever flowing" in Clow's voice.
Another Vacation has begun since it is the end of a semester and Sakura and Madison go to Twin Bells after school. There is a contest going on. Sakura picks a colored ball out of a box. When Sakura puts her hand into the box, the ball goes into her hand. The ball Sakura picked/went into her hand is revealed to be the grand prize, a four ticket trip to Hong Kong! Madison, Kero, Tori, and Julian all come along.
In Hong Kong, Kero jokes to Madison and Sakura about how Clow believed that nothing happens by accident and maybe Sakura was meant to come to Hong Kong for a reason, but they all dismiss the idea. Up on a sign, two silver birds watch the three. That night, Sakura dreams the dream again. She is still standing on the water and this time a person is revealed, floating in the air. They pass the ribbons down to Sakura and she reaches for them, but wakes up.
After Lunch, they all go to Bird Street. Sakura says it feels like they're being watched and Kero says that there can't be a Clow Card in Hong Kong, that the presence feels more evil. Julian points out two birds up on a wire, not in a cage and they fly off with Sakura chasing them, Madison and Kero follow. She follows them into a secluded place in the city, appearing old and in ruins. In the center is a well with water near its top. Sakura looks into it and two ribbons rise from it. She goes into a trace and prepares to jump into the it, seeing the person from the dream in the water. Suddenly Li shows up and snaps Sakura out of the trace and the person and ribbons disappear, the two birds fly away. On Bird Street, Madison and Meilin meet up, to Meilin's dismay. Sakura and Li meet up with them and moments later, Tori and Julian come to them.
They all go to Li's house. Li's mother senses that Sakura has possession of Clow Cards and warns Sakura of danger to come. Li's mother invites them all to stay at their house for the night. That night, Li's mother's warning remains in Sakura's head and Sakura dreams the dream again. This time, when Sakura grabs the ribbon, it wraps around her wrist, the person states, "At last, you have finally come back for me.", and informs Sakura she's been waiting a long time for her return and to be set free. Kero shakes Sakura out of her dream and a red mark is present on Sakura's wrist where the ribbon grabbed her. Li's mother informs her that Sakura has been summoned to Hong Kong by the woman in her dreams and the evil that is calling Sakura is very powerful.
In the morning, they all head off with Meilin and Li, told by Li's mother to follow Sakura because of the danger. Li's Mother tells Sakura to "beware of water." At a shop stand, Julian sees Sakura holding a barrette, recognizing it as a barrette like the one the woman in her dream had, and Julian buys it for her. Sakura sees the two birds and chases them again with Kero. Li, Tori, and Julian followed but are far behind. Kero tells Sakura the two birds are spirit birds, and not good spirits. They fly into a store, which appears closed. Sakura and Kero go in anyway, the door isn't locked. They browse the shop and Sakura tells Kero she hears water. They find it coming from a book on a desk, on its cover is a woman sitting on the rim of the pond, and Sakura is entranced by it. Even though Kero tries to prevent it, Sakura unlatches the book, right when Tori, Julian, and Li come into the store, followed by Meilin and Madison. The book releases water at a rapid rate, flooding the entire store to the ceiling. Only Sakura and Kero are present as they enter another realm. The woman from the dream is enraged by their appearance; they are not the one she was expecting. The woman is also enraged about Sakura's possession of a Clow Card and a battle plays out as Sakura dodges whips of water on The Fly. Li appears and protects Sakura. The woman reveals the others, trapped in bubbles, asleep. The woman demands the whereabouts of Clow Reed, Kero says the woman is familiar. The battle continues as Li summons the Storm Card to trap the woman and Sakura releases Madison with the Sword Card, but has to leave Meilin, Tori, and Julian behind. As Madison wakes up, the woman breaks free from the Storm Card, saying, "It is unforgivable." Li has been weakened and is captured. he tells Sakura to escape without him. The woman claims that if Clow won't come to release her, she will use their powers to release herself. Sakura, Madison, and Kero manage escape, flying high through the portal in the ceiling, out of the realm. They appear back in the shop they began at, it is unharmed by the waters and the book is gone. Kero says that the aura from the book has disappeared; taking the way into the other realm with it.
Back at their room, Kero remembers the woman as Sue Young, a fortune teller who fell in love with Clow Reed. He taught her how to use magic but she used her powers for evil and he trapped Sue in another realm. Sue created the book to lure Clow back to release her. Kero tells them there is usually more than one way into another realm. Sakura knows where it is, the well the birds lured her to the other day.
At the well, Kero acknowledges there's a strong energy from it. A force field surrounds the well, preventing anyone's entrance. Li's mother shows up, saying Li's presence has disappeared and that his power wasn't a match for Sue's magic but Sakura's might be. Li's mother uses her magic to cut through the barrier, allowing Sakura and Kero access to the well.
Back in the realm, the two regain access to the room where they were before. Sue demands that they must bring Clow to her if she is to release Sakura's friends. The room begins to collapse and the bubbles holding the others disappear. She then is released into the real world. The collapsing ceases and Sakura and Kero emerge from the well, flying high into Hong Kong and they find Sue, who persists in attacking them until they tell her where Clow is. Sue ensnares Sakura in her ribbons and Sakura tries to convince Sue that Clow is really dead. Sue's rage of being trapped in the realm Clow created brings her to flood the area where Sakura is, holding her underwater. The realization of Clow's death finally reaches Sue. Sakura calls on the Arrow Card and it punctures the ribbons and releases the water, Sakura escapes and confronts Sue. After Sakura talks to her, Sue forgives Clow and disappears and the barrette she had, the third entrance into the other realm, breaks which releases the others.
Leaving Hong Kong, Julian and Tori don't remember the event and Sakura hopes they return to Hong Kong someday.
