Welcome to the Cardiac Arrest guide at TV.com. Made by the BBC and billed as a black comedy, Cardiac Arrest provided a controversial view of a British hospital, rather than staying within the politically correct boundaries that are normally adhered to. Essentially, the plot followed newly qualified Dr Andrew Collin as he finds himself dropped in to a world is is patently unqualified for. Cardiac Arrest ran for 3 series from 1994-96 and although received many complkaints, attracted 8 million viewers at the height of its popularity. In September 2006, more than 600 doctors signed a campaign to pressure the BBC in releasing this series on DVD. They feel that this is the only medical drama that has ever come close to evoking the chaos and black humour of life in British hospital.moreless
