  • A couple of funny moments, but overall it's toddler territory and lame.

    4.0
Arna Selznick, the director of the first CARE BEARS movie, tries her hand writing an episode. Unfortunately, it's another show-based episode. The best of these episodes, "The Care Bears Safety Game" excelled because of a charismatic host (Grumpy) and hilarious byplay between Braveheart and Mr. Beastly. But "the Care Bears Exercise Show" was mindnumbing, condescending and uninteresting. This is mostly borderline and lame, but it DOES have its moments. The focal plot involves Hugs, Tugs, and Tender Heart attempting to bake gingerbread cookies as they watch Grams Bear on TV. Beastly is also watching the show from No Heart's castle, incidentally, and becomes inspired to do so as well. Predictably, he ends up botching it (creating a GIANT, monstrous teddy bear cookie), while Tender Heart and the cubs get it right. Hardly exciting or compelling and mostly for toddlers. Although it IS amusing to see Beastly getting Grams' directions wrong. Take out the dull, uninteresting scenes involving Tender Heart and the cubs, and this episode would get a MUCH higher rating.moreless
