EDIT
Journey to Joke-a-Lot
AIRED:
A disagreement causes Funshine Bear to leave Care-A-Lot and look for someplace where his jokes will be appreciated without hurting anyone's feelings. It's the type of thing that probably could be resolved with an apology and a little listening, but intentions are misinterpreted in the heat of the moment. As Funshine Bear ends up being crowned king of a village called Joke-A-Lot, a group of his friends work to bring him back to Care-A-Lot. None of them, however, realize that they're playing right into the plan of a villain called "Funnybone."moreless

There is also a short introduction from the director in which he encourages viewers to try and guess where the scenes would have been in the movie, had they been included.

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • Funnybone: Open the pod bay doors, Pal.
Pal: I'm afraid I can't do that, Dave.
The computer in Joke-A-Lot refers to Funnybone as Dave, setting up for this gag. This is a dead-on reference to 2001: A Space Odyssey, in which the main character Dave makes the exact same request of the computer HAL 9000 and it tells him "I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that."

    • Funnybone: When this is over, I'm getting a real henchman. A parrot or something.
Griping about his moronic fly henchmen, the film's villain references the Disney classic Aladdin, in which the villain Jafar was always accompanied by his loud-mouthed, evil parrot, Iago.
