    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (3)

      • When Varlyn Stroud is looking at the monument of the dead miners in Babylon, he crosses off names on his list. Only two names remain. One of them is Kenneth Requa. He is post-production assistant for the show.

      • The card at the top of the stack that Sofie finds is the three of cups which means victory, fulfilment, solace, healing.

      • Continuity: Just after Ben headbutts Geddes the mask maker and breaks his ceramic mask, we cut to a room shot with Geddes's voice overdubbed saying "You've heard of plaster of paris...". Unfortunately the mask is whole again in this shot, then once again broken in the next one.

    • QUOTES (4)

      • Samson: You got someone on your tail.
Ben: He's a big guy in a brown suit? I think I hooked up with him when I come in.
Samson: A real peach, that one. Smiles a lot, but he got dead man's eyes. Who do you reckon he is?
        Ben: Johnny Law.
Samson: His type's more comfortable behind bars than in front of 'em.

      • (Doting Dad puts his kids on the ferris wheel)
Doting Dad: You just let 'em keep riding and riding, okay, slugger?
(hands Jonesy a bunch of tickets)
Jonesy: You sure? They'll be spinning around for a half hour at least.
Doting Dad: That's what I figured. This is their first time up and, well, I just want them to always remember it.
        Jonesy: Yes, sir.
        Doting Dad: Good man.
(Doting Dad pats Jonesy on the back and walks off; Libby walks up to Jonesy)
Libby: There goes one in a million. I can't even imagine having a dad like that.
Jonesy: Come on. Your dad loves you.
Libby: Sure, he loves me. But not like that. Nothing like that. Of course, you can't really blame him. I mean, look at me. I'm not very lovable.
Jonesy: That's not true. Not true at all. Don't talk about yourself that way.
Libby: Okay. If you say so.
        Jonesy: I say so.

      • Brother Justin: I always said I'd follow the truth no matter where it led me. And now here it is, at my doorstep.

      • Samson: I saw you and Sofie this morning. Getting kind of close, huh?
        Ben: Yeah. So?
Samson: Listen, kid. She's hurting. She's looking to you. Things happen.
Ben: What the he** are you saying?
Samson: I'm saying, stay away from her. I'm saying, she don't need the grief.
Ben: I'm saying it's none of your ******* business.
Samson: You know, you're right. It ain't. But we both know that wherever you're headed, it's likely to be a one-way trip. And that little girl... She's lost enough already.
