The other day I was watching Access Hollywood or one of those smut shows (last Wed. to be exact) and one of the characters was being interviewed. It's the lady with the deformed hands, she had made an appearance in Nip/Tuck last Tuesday. She said "finishing filming Carnivale." I don't know if any of you caught that interview, but I sure as hell did. Someone suggested that HBO was going to do the same thing with Carnivale as they did with the Sopranos. The buzz is flowing about Carnivale and it's play time is increasing on all HBO channels. Let's face, I know that they're thinking about comic books and/or a movie, but it wouldn't do the series any justice.

It could of been a rerun. Did it mention that it was cancled? Or have more current news?

If they don't bring back a whole season they should at least end it like Deadwood. Two 2 hour movies. I would love to have some closure. It stunk the way it ended, I really miss my Carnivale.

It couldn't have been a rerun because the lady with the deformed hands was just on Nip/Tuck 2 episodes ago.

I would be awesome if Carnivale was braught back for a last sesaon to close up the loose ends (many of them).
I wrote a few letters to the HBO director of programming back when I found out it was cancelled.

Maybe with Sopranos ending soon. HBO could then finish this series in some form or another for 2008/09. And if they can get the key characters back.  The series would be my preference but no doubt it would be in the form of a film. Let's just not see the comic as it will ruin the experience. I do love comics by the way.

Not to crush anyone's dreams but I think that Daniel Knauff said he wouldn't do anything like a movie or bonus episodes to end the show.  He's got the whole epic vision and 3 books(6 seasons) thing going on.  I love Carnivale and wish we could see it played out.  I would also hate to see some sort of crappy 2-4 hour "and then this happened...the end" tie-off.

You have to admit it had a pleasing ending. Sure it had some loose ends to tie up but thats only because it was cancled. The message I got from the finale was that the battle between good and evil is never over. I think with the little gospel that was written on the internet and some imagination Carnivale's ending can be given on it's own.

There's enough information/foreshadowing in the existing episodes of Carnivale to infer that it's ending will coincide with the nuking of Hiroshima.  The story focuses on the battle between good and evil via their 'avatars' but more than that it focuses on the LAST battle between good and evil via their 'avatars'.  The entire 3 book story arc should lead towards WWII/Hiroshima as the climax.  That being said the ending we got is ok, gives some closure to the first set of story arcs introduced in the show.  There can be no denying that it leaves us with many important questions and only a handful of satisfying answers.

That's not how I see it. The foreshadowing we've seen, the nukes, have all been in deserted areas which in my eyes say that it all leads up to the first tests of nuclears, which were in New Mexico. But in large, I guess we see it the same way But that the first nuke is the symbol seems more correct in my eyes.
