Mine happened in 'Babylon' when Dora Mae showed up in the window at the very end. The look she gave Sampson, the hitch in his breathing when he realized what her lot in the afterlife would be...it all worked so well. This moment haunted me for days afterwards.

I completely agree. This was my favorite moment too. This was also my favorite episode ("Pick a Number").

My favorite moment was when Ben saved Jonsie. Breathtaking and chilling. If not that, then the final showdown between Ben and Justin.

There where many great moments in this show. And the good and positive thing is that many of those moments include side stories and side characters.

One of the creepiest scenes ever on television.

Just had my own personal Carnivale marathon. Now fully up to date with Season 1 and especially Season 2 (the best DVD of the year so far)
The second half of that season has some of the most jaw-dropping moments on TV, bar none.Simply unmissible tv - so why did I miss it??
Two moments stand out. Just missing out in second place is Scudder tearing Winston apart in Cheyenne - just nasty. But the winner by a narrow head is Ben finding Scudder at the Hotel Astoria in Damascus. A combination of all elements - simply fantastic.

Every time Ben healed and it was revealed that he could heal and the
music swelled. Conversely, every time Brother Justin gave a heated
speech or all out rampaged and his music swelled. God, the musical
score is brilliant.

Another one of my favorites is when, just after she and Ben had made
love, Sophie steps out of the truck and into the downpour and the rain
suddenly stops as soon as Brother Justin comes on the radio.

And again, the Pick A Number scene gave me a shiver down my spine. So
many feelings at the same time, the sadness, the anger, the horror.
Amazing stuff.

I liked the part when Jonesy sends ben to clean out the baggage trailer and that fetus in the jar.....Its eye's opened...Thats creepy!

* When his father's death mask opens it's eyes
* The Season 2 finale when Justin gets out of the giant wheel and starts slashing around
* The shot when Sophie seems to be the new housekeeper

3. The opening dream sequence from 'After The Ball Is Over'.
4. Management grabbing Ben and showing him the trinity test vision in 'Los Moscos'.
5. Justin throwing Smith against the tree when he mentions the 'usher'.
6. Ben briefly controlling the duststorm in 'Black Blizzard'.
7. Management being revealed as Alexi's father / Belyakov attacking Scudder and being killed by Ben.
8. Samson shooting the man from Babylon.
9. The rain pouring then stopping as Justin begins to speak over the radio.
10. Both opening sequences featuring Samson.

I so agree...i mean to think of her afterlife...being raped forever..and ever...arrghh!...that was just overwelming..

love the 10 point list. All of those rank in the favorites, but that's the thing with this show, just about everything that happens can give you that feeling of 'whoa....'. I would also add the entire scene where Ben is healing people with Justing on the Colossus, the cuts back and forth along with the music and Iris screaming and freaking out. Brilliant.

I loved when Justin gets the tree tattoo, and when he saw the tree for the first time.
And of course the last part when Justin and Iris are on the Ferris Wheel screaming.
I liked the moment when Justin, Iris and Norman are chatting and Justin says: "Did you think a dried up old spinster and a pathetic delusional creeple could harm me?" *Ouch that was hard* hahaha but funny though.
I also loved when Justin was at the river baptizing people, all wearing white clothes.
