Episode Recap

Caroline is playing basketball in her apartment, irritating Richard. Richard isn't happy when Caroline sits at the desk so he kicks the chair, making it go down so Caroline can't see over the desk.

When she was going for lunch Caroline buys a double drafting table instead and the delivery guys who carry it to her hall leave it at her door. Annie comes out of her apartment and loves the desk but the three of them can't even lift it. Del comes out of the elevator with a box of Caroline's stuff. He asks for a suit because he has to go to the funeral of one of his employees. The four of them try to get the desk in the door but it gets wedged with Richard stuck inside the apartment. As he's hungry he tries to climb through the desk but gets stuck. The other three leave him, Annie throwing half a candy bar in the hall to where Richard can see it but not reach it.

After they've managed to get the desk out Annie is in Caroline's apartment trying to copy Salty. She tells Richard that after 1600 performances the stage manager thinks she's getting stale. Richard takes a drawing out to Caroline, who is working on the desk in the hall before she has to sell it. One potential buyer points out a stuck drawer and when Caroline manages to get it open she finds a wrapped package inside. She and Annie are excited by the mystery package, which turns out to be a pocket watch with an inscription. Caroline and Annie decide to try to find out who it belonged to.

At the funeral Del and Charlie are signing the guest book for the man who has died, an accountant called Phil. Del is stunned when Charlie tells him Phil was embezzling.

Caroline has found out the full name and address for Stella and as Annie can't go to meet her Caroline persuades Richard to go instead. When they get to the apartment and knock on the door the couple inside have an "I'll get it, I'll get it, OK you get it" kind of argument over who is to open the door. They tell Richard and Caroline that they worked together too and didn't like each other at first until Vick propositioned Stella and the slept together on the desk. Stella insists that Richard and Caroline are a couple. When Caroline tells her she's selling the desk, Stella says it comes apart. As they watch the couple, obviously in love, Caroline whispers "Sincere Amore" to Richard, who agrees. Stella admits she didn't give Vick the watch and married someone else instead. They had finally gotten together and married the year before. Stella tells Richard and Caroline not to wait as long as she did when they insist they're just work colleagues.

Back at the funeral Charlie has stolen the Rolex watch from Phil's dead body and gives it to Del. Del tells him to put it back but Charlie can't get it back on the wrist. Del bends over the body to do it himself but gets his tie caught in the watchband. Charlie, on his usual roller blades, skates away, leaving Del to get out of his mess himself.

In Caroline's apartment the desk has finally been moved in. The door buzzer goes and Richard and Caroline have the same "you get it, I'll get it" argument that Stella and Vick had. When the answer the door it's the older couple, asking permission to borrow the desk.
