Response to first goof: Of course the weapon was missing from its slot when it was revealed. It was found lying on the floor next to the body, being one of the key pieces of evidence used in the case.
The weapon was missing from it's compartment when it was finally revealed.
conan (aka jimmy) says he's in 11th grade in this episode. but, the intro to this show (here at tv tome) says he's a sophmore, or 10th grade. who is wrong, the dubbers or this episode guide?
Neither are incorrect. A sophomore in Japan is equivalent to a junior in America (high school is only 3 years long in Japan)
Harley never found out about Jimmy and Conan that and when he spoke about Gin and Vodka was only in the dub. Their real conversation was just basically about him acknowledging Jimmy as a worthy rival.
The Hint was: Books and Opera Music
Harley mentions to Jimmy that "gin and vodka are stronger than Chinese liquor. Those two are killers." Then he tells him that the two names he mentioned should interest Jimmy a little, since the two are interested in him. The "killers" should ring a bell to the people who don't know what he's talking about. Watch the first episode...and maybe the second. (Submitted by Kaji100)
Harley quickly deduces the connection between Jimmy and Conan as evidenced by his comment about Jimmy having a weak stomache for alcohol, the "remedy" for Conan's cold.
This is Part 2 of the 6th Two-Part Episode
Harley tells Jimmy that the chinese liquors were getting to him. Harley had already figured out that Conan was Jimmy because he gave the liquor to Conan.
Harley's comments to Jimmy about alcohol seems to indicate that he's figured out Conan's secret identity. (submitted by CyberV)
