First appearance of Ai Haibara/Shiho Miyano
-
Because the anime altered the manga content "Mystery Mastermind" came from, they had to create this episode to explain Shiho Miyano appearing and what she says about that case.
-
When Latham Laney first appears, it's Rachel who recognizes him as the man who played the part of the fake phantom thief. However, the real Phantom Thief had already taken Rachels place before Latham Laney appeared, and stayed in her stead for the entirety of the party, so she couldn't very well recognize him from her vantage point unconscious in a lifeboat.
-
At the end of the episode when the guilty party is confessing, they say "And when I realized Richard thought it was an hour later then it was..." This is however backwards, Richard thought it was an hour earlier then it was, not an hour later as she states.
-
George, Mitch, and Amy mention the fact that Conan and Korma sound alike when they sing, even though Conan is tone-deaf. This is true because the person who voices Korma is the same person who voices Conan, who is Alison Retzloff.
-
When Richard is first on the phone with Inspector Maguire and is talking about the shadow Inspector Maguire says "But you saw the shadow yourself", however it was Conan/Jimmy who saw the shadow on the 7th floor not Richard as Inspector Maguire states.
-
There's more than enough evidence in "No Immunity For The Diplomat" to prove that Harley knows the connection between Conan and Jimmy. If that's the case, why does he finally make the connection in this episode, after not having a clue in Part 1?
-
Conan's wireless speaker also works as a tracking bug to relay position and sound to Conan's glasses.
-
Favorite numbers
Richard gets token 96 and says that is similar to his favorite number.
Rachel says her favorite number is 100.
-
Continuity Error: While this episode's placement in the manga works, it doesn't work at this point in the anime for a couple of reasons. Episode 5 "The Time Bomb Express" replaced Melkior and Kaspar (Gin and Vodka in the Funimation dub) with lookalikes, thus Conan wouldn't be able to learn their codenames. This episode, however, he knows their codename. Episode 13 "Mystery Mastermind" again removes Melkior and Kaspar from the story, thus Conan doesn't learn of their Organization. Yet, in this episode he is aware of the Organization and the codename of the men who poisoned him. Jimmy explains this by claiming that Harley Hartwell, whom he had met in episode 48/49, had told him.
-
Response to first goof: Of course the weapon was missing from its slot when it was revealed. It was found lying on the floor next to the body, being one of the key pieces of evidence used in the case.
-
The weapon was missing from it's compartment when it was finally revealed.
-
conan (aka jimmy) says he's in 11th grade in this episode. but, the intro to this show (here at tv tome) says he's a sophmore, or 10th grade. who is wrong, the dubbers or this episode guide?
-
Neither are incorrect. A sophomore in Japan is equivalent to a junior in America (high school is only 3 years long in Japan)
-
If you look closely at Harley Hartwell's hat it has the Chicago White Sox symbol.
-
After explaining how the sealed room trick works Harley walks back into the room through the door he just locked.
-
When Harley is explaining how he thinks the murder was committed. He states, "By combining this needle I just found and a few feet of this ordinary fishing wire...", when he actually found the needle earlier and the string in the garbage can.
-
The guy told Richard to examine the safe on the RIGHT side, but the safe checked was on the LEFT side!
-
the swimming (cap), the hint in "The Last Dive" is shown after this episode. the correct hint for "No Immunity for the Diplomat" is a key ring and fishing line.
-
Wouldn't it have taken Rachel longer than the three seconds in which the gang found the body, she left the room, and came running back to call the police and find out that they couldn't get there because of a storm?
