Casey Jr.'s dog "Cinders" is listed in the opening and closing credits for the last time, although the dog still appears in later episodes.

Capt. Young's wife Ruth is Casey's wife Alice's cousin.

Mary Lawrence and Eddy Waller appear in the credits but are not seen in this episode.

The Cannonball Express was built by Baldwin Locomotive Works which is the name of a real builder of railroad locomotives, and between 1825 and 1956 built over 70,500 locomotives. The Cannonball Express is Number 1.

The opening titles end with "and Cinders", showing Casey Jr.'s dog. This credit will get dropped from the opening titles after the second episode.
