I'm interested to see how this will play out.

I doubt Castle will ever be kicked off the team, but the question of how he stays would be interesting.

Would going after the Mayor lose him his favor, BUT the new Captain/Lt/whatever finally respecting him and letting him stay (her own choice) due to going after someone like that.

Does the Mayor simply respect Castle's difficult position and let him stay? (Assuming the Mayor is innocent and stays in office).

Sigh. One of the real unfortunate side effects of watching a lot of TV, besides lacking a life, is you start to see the pattern of every story. For instance when the character is a well placed aide that doesn't talk and the actor happens to have a recurring role on another drama show you know he's going to be the perp.

Overall, I did like that they brought back Castle's mystery contact and made him into more of a Deep Throat character

Ha, I saw Michael Grant Terry and immediately knew he was going to be involved. I think the writers knew people would recognize him so they tried to hide him as best they could. If you notice, he barely talked and he was never in frame for very long or it was a side shot.

All the arrows seem to be pointing to a congressman/woman or senator. They really couldn't go much more above that. As long as it's not Castle's father I will be okay with it.

Old man should have given Castle the name, so he can plot a master-plan to arrest the bad guy.

And again Castle, just look at the powerful NY politicians who were in law enforcement and got a big payday to start his career, and you have him.

I was waiting for Michael Grant Terry's character to get killed after the 6 feet tall dark-haired lawyer came to pick him up, but I guess I was wrong on that part.

Oherwise I loved the episodes and I'm looking forward to the next time the characters get wrapped up in a case that's related to Beckett's backstory.

The only real flaw in this episode was the one other have mentioned. The villain was way too easy to spot early in the episode. Other than that it was fantastic. Loved how they worked in the connection to the people who killed Kate's mother. Can't wait to see where things go from here.

This episode, I think, was kind of new... because not only did it have a weekly murder investigation case, but it intertwined continuity by connecting the current case to Beckett's mother's murder investigation. It served as a unique episode for me personally. It helped build the character's backstories as well! Great episode!

I swore the operator saying "You hear the sound of stilettos coming towards you, James" right after the break when they get to D.A.G. was Lucy Lawless at first. Almost positive it isn't.
