  • A good crime story(with great moment) plus the usual Castle humor moments. Spoiler inside.

    9.5
First of all the crime story it's self is very good. Very well written. It had some twist and turn, there is also many suspect(as usual in Castle). But to me, the bad guy is somewhat obvious from the start. Character Development is on mark in this one, but most of all I look at this one as more of a humors episode. It has some very cute family moment. And many many moment that made me laugh as usual. XD

In addition of humor that made me love this episode, there is reason of crime. In all the Castle story's, this one is the saddest. It was a very moving moment when the husben listing to the first part of the tape. I never fell sorry for a bad guy so much as in this one. I can even say I understand the why he did it. We do all kind of things for/because Love, Both the good and bad. In someway it's the love that made us human and also because of it, we could become a evil monster. In this case a moment of jealousy coast yound woman life and eternal regret of a young man.moreless
  • A young women is found stabbed with a strange object in a fountain downtown. It turns out she is a young model who was about to become the signature face of a famous clothing line. Beckett and Castle must brave Fashion Week to find the killer.moreless

I actually enjoyed this episode a great deal. It had some nice family scenes, some twisty turns, and some devious moments. My only problem with it was it was terribly predictable.

    ***** Spoilers *****

As we meet the many people surrounding this young model we see what may be their motive for killing her. Her model friend Sierra, jealousy, the fashion photographer Wyatt, rejection, Sierra's boyfriend who took the pictures, a crazed stalker, but with her husband they didn't show any motive for him to have killed her at all. "I was home asleep by 11:00 and awoke at 3:00 and filed a missing persons report." They just took that explanation without even blinking.

Now that aside I liked the way they came back to get him. Find the stalker. Link the stalker to the not so much BFF. Get BFF's story about the famous sleazy photographer. Then finally figure out the other cell phone existed from sleazo and track it down. Get recording and catch the killer.

Nice twists and turns if you were expecting anything else. I wish they would get something a little more concrete on the killers instead of having to make them confess in this case. Of course they don't do that every time, but once is enough.

Enjoyable episode with all the little pretty people. Castle's family is cute. Isn't amazing how different that girl looked without all the makeup etc.? Thanks for reading...moreless
  • Fashion extravaganza (Attention: spoilers in review)

    9.0
Another entertaining episode from Castle, this time revolving around New York's world renowned fashion scene. It was fun to watch Castle interact with all the models, and Beckett play it cool while she was slightly annoyed. It's obvious she's jealous and just doesn't care to admit it.

The case was also interesting, a young model was murdered and while at first the team is going for the usual approach, that of a single killer with a specific motive, during the course of their investigation they find out a little more about the cutthroat nature of the fashion industry. The model's allegedly best friend had used her boyfriend to stalk her, so that she was scared away from a good contract, leaving the spot empty for her. The photographer of the designer she was working for was blackmailing her into having sex with him, otherwise he would ruin her photo shoots, while the designer himself couldn't care less about her death. Her husband who was supposed to protect and support her turned out to be the killer. While Jenna (the murdered model) was faithful to him he believed she was cheating, and in his rage murdered her. Nice twist that had us guessing who among everyone that seemed to have motive was the killer after all.

Castle turned out to be "a big softie" like his mother said, since he started out trying to seduce a model and when he found out she was his daughter's ex-babysitter, ended up arranging a get-together between her and Alexis. However much he tries to present himself as the legendary playboy, in the end he's a nice guy, and that's why Beckett likes him - and so do we!moreless
  • An okay story but not the series' best.

The running through the fountains bit is very sexy… until they see the dead body – I wouldn't get out of the shower for a week! Not to mention I'd scrub myself raw! Yuck!

The modelling story is good but not very creative. I did enjoy the solution to the case, how the husband misunderstood. Imagine living with knowing your wife was actually trying to get herself *out* of a bad situation and you killed her for it.

Nice seeing Julian Sands again, he never changes, or ages for that matter.

I always enjoy the behind-the-scenes with Castle's family and Castle's inviting Rina over to spend time with Alexis was a really lovely thing to do.moreless
  • When it comes to Castle, anything is a good thrill if its a murder investigation.

    8.5
What better to spruce of the lives of the essential male detective than to have a murder investigation listing a dead model. It takes a huge loss to bring true happiness. Castle even picked up Alexis' past babysitter at the agency, although I knew he wasn't really going to go out with her.

Since no one picked up a dress or shaved their head from 'The Double Down' it was safe to say all bets were off. The strange photographer was my first suspect, seeing that the writers just placed him in front view for no reason. It was certainly a shocker when it was revealed that the husband took his wife's life. Maybe he didn't really love her that much if he allowed jealousy to consume him, or maybe he loved her too much.

Nuff' said, the twist was interesting enough to throw you into a wild goose chase and even though Castle's family life is on the low, the writers make good use of his mother and daughter, so much that their plots remain interesting. There is still no advancement in Beckett's mother's case or even a whiff as to whether or not Castle dropped it all together. Castle and Beckett seem to be more chummy than ever, so it would make sense if Castle did send the case file to the wolves, but something just doesn't smell right. After all, Castle is a writer, he has to find that story and maybe nothing is being revealed now, but soon his curiosity would get the better of him.

When we think back to the plot of a wife who loved her husband, but because of a misunderstanding he kills the best person in his life. Some people could relate to not trusting the person you are with up to the point of paranoia and there would also be that laps in judgment. Still if he did love her, coming forward would have been the best way to clear his conscience. I still commend Matt Barr for shaping Travis into the jealous husband and still come off believable even through reasonable doubt when the spotlight was on him. He didn't fall through. One of the most reasons I admire this series; mystery filled, emotional and funny which balances out it's validity as a series.

    • Esposito: Looking good, Detective Beckett.
      Beckett: How did you guys?
      Ryan: We're detectives.
      Esposito: Called your dad.

    • Esposito: Castle, hey, is your girl here?
      Ryan: Rina.
Beckett: Rina used to babysit Alexis, fellas. So as far as Big Rick here is concerned, she might as well be wearing a chastity belt.
Castle: Thank you for that visual image. And also, thank you for calling me Big Rick.

    • Beckett: That's Teddy Farrow's logo. He designs clothes for women. Upscale. Expensive.
Castle: My credit card and I are painfully aware of Teddy's designs. I almost asked for custody of them after my last divorce.

    • Castle: She was probably at a club last night. It is, after all, fashion week. When all the hottest women in the world descend upon the hippest night spots like locusts. Except locusts eat.

    • Ryan: Her purse is missing, no ID, and get this, we couldn't find her shoes.
Castle: I'm gonna go with still with Prince Charming at the ball.

    • Castle: I can already see the blurb on my next book jacket; It's fashion week in New York City, and the clothes are to die for.
