Good episode, and a good dynamic between Castle and Beckett given the distance between them. Just nothing too memorable happened.
  • Shock ending.

Not a very interesting episode, the worst so far this season. Shock ending though..
  • Kate is still Kate! :D

This was definitely a great episode. The stand out action by far was when Beckett called in the tip. We've been shown that she had some problems with the way things worked at her new job and having her call in that tip really showed that she's still the same amazing character we all know and love.

That action did, of course, cost Beckett her job. But I think we could have all seen that coming. Although Beckett definitely has the skills to be working in that job, the sacrifices they needed her to make in terms of morality just didn't work with Beckett's character. It will be interesting to see how the writers prevent the show from just going into old habits. They introduced this job to change things up, so having her just go back to her job would be extremely counterproductive and pointless. I'm hoping they will have a spark of genius on the way :)

Of course I couldn't forget to mention the scene before Beckett got fired, where Castle revealed that he had bought an apartment in DC. Not only was it sweet and showed that this couple was here to stay, but it was also something we really expected with the writers. If they tried to convince the audience that Castle - with all of his wealth, contacts, and resources - could not simply move to DC for the woman he loved, then there would be some serious problems... But that didn't happen, so hooray!

The case was a little questionable, sure, but I think this was one of those episodes where the case really didn't matter. It just provided the episode with the opportunities it needed. I was sad not to have seen Lanie, but with Kate having lost her job, I'm hoping that their relationship will be cause for Kate to go talk to her and give her some long awaited screen time.

Finally, it hasn't been a major bother, but I was wondering why Kate and Richard still refer to each other by their last names? It's just seems a little odd I guess. They are engaged and all haha

Oh, and I could spend a WHOLE PARAGRAPH talking about what a stupid character Pi is, but I'm just going to leave that today. But seriously... Please... Make him leave.

Can't wait till next episode :D (hopefully one including Lanie and EXCLUDING Pimoreless
  • WHERE GOTH THOU, "MARLOWE"?

OF THE FIRST THREE EPISODES, THIS WAS THE WEAKEST IN TERMS OF DRAMA. IT FELT CONVOLUTED, AND CONTRIVED TO GET THE STORY LINE BACK TO NEW YORK. THE ENTIRE SERIES OF EPISODES STARTING WITH THE SQUIB AND QUALE, (EXCLUDING THE MISPLACED "STILL") UP TO "NEED TO KNOW" APPEAR TO BE THE WRITERS MAKING A MISTAKE IN THE DIRECTION THEY TOOK THE STORY AND ARE TRYING TO GET BACK ON TRACK. EXCEPTING "NEED TO KNOW" I ENJOYED THE DRAMA OF THESE EPISODES NOT THE STORY-LINE. "PI" IS A WHOLE OTHER MESS.moreless
  • A Good Welcome Back To The 12th *Beware of Spoilers*

I liked this episode. I was glad to see Castle having a chance to really work with Ryan and Esposito for the first time so far this season. It was good to see Kate back in New York again too, partially reuniting with her old team.

The case for the week was pretty good and there were some twists that I didn't see coming. I loved how Ryan was a huge fan of the fake show and even wore that hat.

I'm glad that the writers were true to the character of Kate Beckett. Her actions in this episode were in line with who she is. Of course, those actions ultimately cost her the federal agent job but we all knew that would happen eventually. I saw it coming as soon as I realized that Beckett leaked information to the press. The knock on the door during the final scene solidified it, I didn't even need to hear what McCord had to say.

I thought the final scene, before the knock, with Castle showing Beckett the key and telling her he bought a place for them in the nation's capital was very sweet. It proves that Castle is all in with Kate, their relationship, her career, everything. Hopefully this means there won't be any insecurity shown between the two again anytime soon.

I'm not sure how I feel about that new detective at the 12th or the fact that he's a complete slob in the workplace. At home that may be ok, in a small scale and on occasion, but in the workplace? I liked seeing Perlmutter again but I'm kind of disappointed that there has been no sign of Lanie so far this season.moreless

    • Castle: Playing the anonymous source card? I mean, that is pure genius. It-it actually makes me love you more.
Beckett: Well, she's filing for asylum, and the state department is gonna help relocate her, so... hopefully that'll keep her safe.
Castle: Yeah, but even working for the feds, you-you found the ultimate way to honor the victim. Charlie died trying to get Svetlana away from her dangerous family. You completed his mission.
Beckett: Yeah, but you would have done the same thing, Castle.
Castle: Yes. Yes, and I would love me more for doing it, too.

    • Perlmutter: Mr. Castle, you're back. But not by popular demand.
Castle: Good to see you, too, Perlmutter.
