Never before have I been as bored with an episode of Castle as I was with this one. A good show, it's coming back for at least one more year, but this was a really bad episode.

They had a death at a beauty pageant, but that ended up having little to do with the actual plot. It was just another random murder mystery that the viewer was only mildly interested in. Too much stuff with Castle's daughter and Ben Boykewich, or whatever they are calling him on this show. That's not why I tuned into this show.

Like Castle, fan of the show, but this was not a good one here tonight.moreless

    • Castle: Beauty queens and naked pictures it's American as socialites and sex tapes.

    • Castle: Well, just because you're smart and beautiful doesn't mean you have good judgment. [Pause] I didn't mean me.

    • Castle: The best thing to give a woman is something that she said that she wanted when she didn't think you were listening.
Montgomery: What if I wasn't listening?
      Castle: Gift Certificate?

    • Castle: Life is a journey, and there is no predicting the outcome. The only thing you can control are your choices, and they'll... they'll define who you are.

    • Castle: You know I-I hate to interfere... Alexis: (smiles) Since when? Castle: Point taken.

    • Castle: 30 years of marriage, and you don't know what to buy her? Captain Montgomery: If you stayed married long enough, you'd know, it's hard to stay original after the first ten. Castle: That's fair. Beckett: So what's the secret to your success? Captain Montgomery: There's no secret. Just... keep showing up.

    • Castle: Well, do what I do. Look at the odds as a challenge. Alexis: Says the man who always loses in Vegas.

    • Beckett: "I had a roommate freshman year, Debbie Whitaker, it was like living with Elle Woods on steroids".

Elle Woods is the main character in the film and stage production of Legally Blonde, and was portrayed on screen by Reese Witherspoon. Elle is an attractive but ditzy blonde sorority girl and former beauty queen.

    • Castle: I love the smell of hairspray in the morning. It smells like... victory. Castle substitutes "hairspray" for "napalm" in a paraphrasing of a famous line spoken by Lieutenant Colonel Bill Kilgore (Robert Duvall) in the 1979 film Apocalypse Now.
