Catchphrase

Show Summary

Catchphrase was a game show based on a short lived American game show of the same name, hosted by Irish comedian Roy Walker. Two contestants battle it out as they buzz to idenify a catchphrase from an animation shown on screen. The person with the highest amount of money made it through to the Super Catchphrase for the chance to win a holiday and spending money. The show also had a mascot named Mr. Chips, who appeared in a few of the catchphrases. In 2000 the show underwent a major revamp, complete with a new presenter, new set and new style of graphics. Many viewers felt Roy Walkers departure of the show was the downfall of Catchphrase and thus axed in 2002 due to low ratings.
