Broadway's best have been recognized every year in this awards event since April 4, 1947. First televised broadcast was in 1967. The Tony Awards typically features musical numbers from nominated musicals. Over the years, they have occasionally featured excerpts (live and/or filmed) from nominated plays, as well. Over the years, the telecast has been hosted by the likes of Angela Lansbury, Hugh Jackson and Rosie O'Donnell, who, at the height of her popularity, boosted the ratings considerably. Networks airing the program have varied and sometimes technical awards have been presented on a second PBS broadcast directly preceeding the main event. While honoring the best of Broadway, it is the single biggest promotional event for New York Theatre each year.moreless

CMT Unplugged is a live music series from Country Music Television and Starburst that offers viewers exclusive performances by a collection of the most popular and critically-acclaimed country music stars working today, as they play their hits without electric accompaniment for an intimate and personal atmosphere. This series spun-off from MTV Unplugged, the Emmy Award-winning series that captured viewers around the world with its high-quality videos of popular artists performing stripped down versions of their well-known songs. In any genre of music, acoustic performances offer listeners a new take on old favorites, removing the distractions of contemporary production and focusing instead on the quality of lyrics, the delicate accompaniment, and the strength of each signer's voice. However, country music may be better suited for acoustic performance than most, as this classic American genre dates back to days when acoustic performance was the only option available to a music artist. CMT Unplugged is an entertaining series, featuring performances by Taylor Swift, Big & Rich, Trace Adkins, and more.moreless

The outrageous comedy/reality series stars British chameleon Sacha Baron Cohen, who travels across America in the guise of one of three totally different characters. Cohen's primary alter-ego is Ali G., who calls himself a "hip-hop journalist", but who's really a white rapper-wannabe.

When Cohen isn't putting Ali G and his "guests" in unusual and often delightfully uncomfortable situations, he's shedding his yellow gangsta track suit attire and slipping into two other memorable characters: Borat, an impossibly naive TV reporter from Kazakhstan, and Bruno, a gay Austrian fashionista. The series aired under the name 'Ali G in da USAiii' in the UK, on channel 4, were the original show aired.moreless
