    reZONED

    reZONED

    HGTV
reZONED from HGTV is a television show which takes the viewer on a tour through homes which are in some way unusual or have been created from buildings removed from their original purpose. Where the traditional home and garden TV show format has started to become boring and stale, showcasing the same unimaginative houses reZONED is fresh and exciting, showing what can be achieved by home owners not afraid of a little hard work or of thinking outside the square. Among the rooms and homes featured on the show are a train depot waiting room which has been converted to a kitchen, or a church renovated to take on the role of a dining room with table and benches made from the original wooden pews. The show proves that anything is possible if you put in the elbow grease, and makes for an absorbing and fulfilling watch, and perhaps even inspiration to budding or dormant DIYers.moreless

    Wellspring Media
Joseph Campbell: Mythos is a multi-part documentary television series consisting of lectures by Joseph Campbell, which originally ran on PBS for 4 seasons, totaling 20 episodes, and was produced by the Joseph Campbell foundation. The series investigates popular myths, delving into surprising facts about the human mythic impulse in terms of psychology, ethnology, and comparative mythology. In the last 6 years of his life, Campbell delivered these lectures to share his life’s findings about the subject of myths, a phenomenon that has been around for all of recorded human existence. Campbell discusses why myths exist, how they differ, but also resemble one another, across cultures, and what they did to shape mindsets and civilization. He discusses why certain myths took on different forms and played more heavily with certain themes at different times, as well as why myths are important at all. Joseph Campbell: Mythos varies along three major themes: the shaping of our mythic tradition, the shaping of eastern tradition, and the shaping of western tradition. 10-8

    ABC (ended 2004)
When a sheriff's squad rolls out each day and the deputies begin their shifts, they call in to dispatch, "10-8… We are now in service." 10-8 explores the LA Sheriffs from the front lines – the patrol car – in the course of the officers' shifts, which can range from the mundane to the dangerous, and everything in between. Rico Amonte was brought out to LA by his older brother Angelo, a detective in the LAPD Robbery/Homicide Division. He is now in his first year, learning to become a professional police officer, and it's up to Senior Deputy Barnes to teach him the ropes. Their vastly different backgrounds give them opposing points of view on how to police the streets. Amonte's irreverent style can get the job done, but usually not in the way Barnes would call standard procedure. The other training officers are Senior Deputy Matt Jablonski and Senior Deputy Ryan Layne. Jablonski is partnered with Trainee Gabriella Lopez, a young Latina from East LA. Layne's partner is Trainee Chase Williams, a recent law school grad eager to acquire street experience before he becomes a D.A. Captain Otis Briggs fights to keep his station running smoothly and by the book. In Los Angeles County, which has the largest sheriff's jurisdiction in the country, it's a daunting task.
