The mystery guests were paid $500 as an appearance fee whether they won or lost the game. This was in addition to the maximum $50 game winnings. Guest panelists were paid $750 as an appearance fee. The WB (ended 2002)
Mixing it up with laugh-out-loud comedy, youthful appeal and a likable namesake lead, The Steve Harvey Show crackles with high school hijinks and teacher entanglements in a hip urban setting. The series' successes as a multiple NAACP Image Award winner and as one of The WB's hit flagship series underscore its enduring longevity, immense popularity and far-reaching influence. In the series, former R&B star Steve Hightower (Harvey) gives up his wild times for school ties, becoming an inner-city Chicago music teacher – and eventually a vice principal – with a ragtag bunch of classroom charges. Headlining the Hi-Tops soul group – who opened for the likes of Gladys Knight and the Pips – Hightower's touring career never quite hit the high note he expected. Down on his luck, and totally out of money, he decides to let go of his carefree lifestyle and pin down a "real" job. With an assist from his longtime friend and eventual roommate, the gym coach with the insatiable appetite Cedric Robinson (Cedric the Entertainer), Steve enrolls in a new type of performing and makes a classroom at Washington High School his stage. Initially grappling with the students' penchant for baggy clothes, bad attitudes and baffling slang, Steve soon realizes that a compassionate spin will help him tone down his shock and contend with the kids' problems… be they hard knocks or humorous woes. Steve's also initially stunned by his boss, no-nonsense Principal Regina Grier (Wendy Raquel Robinson). Once the overweight butt of Steve's practical jokes when they were classmates years ago, Regina has no intention of letting him forget his place now – at least most of the time. But her newly-svelte persona wows Steve, and they actually dance around each other in a love/hate cha-cha-cha. Cedric has his own love subject, falling for Grier's new, overtly outspoken assistant Lovita (Terri J. Vaughn), who also takes outlandish opportunities to rattle Steve. Office romances aside, Steve tries reining in a class headed by Romeo (Merlin Santana), a fast-talking ladies' teen who takes his name seriously; Stanley "Bullethead" Kuznocki (William Lee Scott), a street-savvy tough guy whose brawn outweighs his brain; the group's honors student Lydia (Lori Beth Denberg) who, despite knowing she's smarter than them all, gets pulled into crazy schemes hoping to cash in on some coolness; and Sophia (Tracy Vilar) and Sara (Nefta Perry) who each fall for Romeo's seemingly-indestructible charm.

During the series' six-season run, The Steve Harvey Show won 13 NAACP Image Awards for the show as well as stars Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer and Terri J. Vaughn.

The Steve Harvey Show is executive produced by Bernie Brillstein and Brad Grey (Just Shoot Me, "The Larry Sanders Show"), series creator Winifred Hervey ("The Cosby Show," The Golden Girls," "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air"), director Stan Lathan ("Moesha," "Roc," "South Central") and Jeff Duteil ("Sister, Sister," "Hangin' with Mr. Cooper"). Walter Bennett, Jr. ("In The House") is co-executive producer. The series is from Brillstein-Grey Communications, Winifred Hervey Productions and Stan Lathan TV

The Simple Life is a totally unscripted series starring everyone's favorite spoiled socialites, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie!

The show's first 3 seasons were shown on FOX. But seasons 4 and 5 are now on E! with reruns of the first 3 seasons.

During the shows first season, Paris and Nicole got a reality check when they learned what it was really like to live among the middle-as they moved from their posh Beverly Hills pads to the small town of Altus, Arkansas (population 817) for a one-month stay.

Paris and Nicole were horribly inept at their jobs, which were the first they had ever had-including gigs at a dairy farm and a fast-food joint. But pretty soon they were up to their old tricks, picking up guys and causing mischief along the way, all in an effort to spice up the lives of their small town family and to win the hearts of the town's simple, kind-hearted residents. In the end, the girls survived the challenge, and most certainly served to prove that you can take the girl out of the city, but you can't take the city out of the girl!

During The Simple Life 2: Road Trip the outrageous Hilton and Richie were again stripped of their cell phones, cash and credit cards and set off on a trip across country in their hot pink pick-up and air stream trailer. Departing from Miami Beach, FL, and ending up in Beverly Hills, CA, the girls had to navigate their way through a wild ride full of new jobs, host families, and small towns across the southern U.S.

Now, the girls are back once again and are ready for their next challenge in The Simple Life 3: Interns.(Nicole Richie's final season) This time around, the girls will travel throughout the Northeast United States via Greyhound bus while visiting families and taking on an assortment of odd jobs from zoo keeping to Burger King. They will intern at a job for two days, on the second day they will be graded on their behavior and performance, from an A to an F (The girls' average score) If they complete the job as directed they each receive $100.00 (the managers deduct sometime... They even get fired! The girls stay with families each week and usually contribute by cooking a home cooked meal or preparing a sexy birthday night! This season the girls are really put to the test!

    It's Your Move

    Follow
    NBC (ended 1985)
After Jason Bateman had shown just how funny he could be on Silver Spoons, he was given his own show called It's Your Move. Unlike most family sitcoms of the time, Silver Spoons included, It's Your Move emphasized clever humor and witty writing over typical plots involving normal family behaviors such as those seen on Family Ties and Growing Pains. It's Your Move often had a moral of some kind, but it was delivered in a Simpsons-esque way rather than shoving it down your throat. The show revolves around a smart, 14-year-old kid named Matthew Burton who, with the help of his slightly chubby crony, Eli, keenly pulls off schemes and pranks that would impress Ferris Bueller. Matthew lives in an apartment with his mother, Eileen, an attractive, single woman who attracts men like flies to a horse. Matthew, of course, is very protective of her and uses his clever tricks and schemes to weed out any of the losers who might want to take advantage of Eileen's kindness and naivete. Eileen, however, is completely oblivious to her son's antics and believes that he is as sweet and innocent as she is. Matthew also lives with his older sister, Julie, for whom Eli has a huge crush. Unlike her mother, Julie often sees through her brother's plans and offers up any trouble she can. Nevertheless, Matthew even has his bratty sister under control and is the master of his destiny. Things change when a struggling writer named Norman moves into the apartment across the hall and immediately falls in love with Eileen. Eileen feels the same for Norman who treats her well. Matthew doesn't share his mother's sentiments and feels that she should be dating rich, good-looking guys - both of which Norman is not. Thus, Matthew sets out to ruin Norman's chances with Eileen with one of his hilarious setups, but Norman turns out to just as be as clever and turns the tables on Matthew. The series basically consists of the two adversaries trying to dupe each other. The two characters were very likable, and their schemes were so cleverly crafted that it was easy to enjoy the show when either guy pulled one over on the other. Unfortunately, the series was disliked by adults because it portrayed a child out of the control of his parent. Eventually, Eileen became aware of her son's pranks and the balance between the characters went off-kilter. The show performed even more poorly and was quickly canceled. The show later enjoyed a brief resurgence in reruns on the USA Network. This half-hour comedy focuses on the bizarre experiences of fresh-faced medical intern John "J.D." Dorian (Zach Braff) as he embarks on his healing career in a surreal hospital crammed full of unpredictable staffers and patients – where humor and tragedy can merge paths at any time.

Joining the rumpled J.D. in his exhilarating brave new world are his college buddy, Chris Turk (Donald Faison, "Clueless"), an intern with a more elite surgical group, and J.D.'s fellow medical intern, the beautiful and driven Elliot Reid (Sarah Chalke, "Roseanne"). Keeping the new interns on their toes are: The fatherly chief of medicine, Dr. Bob Kelso (Ken Jenkins); the abrasive, worldly Dr. Perry Cox (John McGinley), and the caring but slightly jaded nurse Carla Espinosa (Judy Reyes).
