Julia Sugarbaker (Dixie Carter), Mary Jo Shively (Annie Potts), Charlene Frazier-Stillfield (Jean Smart) and Suzanne Sugarbaker (Delta Burke) are associates at their design firm, Sugarbaker and Associates. Julia Sugarbaker is the owner of Sugarbaker and Associates and is very outspoken and strong-willed. Mary Jo Shively is a divorced single-parent who is just as strong-willed as Julia, but isn't as self-confident. Charlene is the naive and trusting farm girl from Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Suzanne Sugarbaker is the self-centered ex-beauty queen who has a number of wealthy ex-husbands. At the end of Season 5 Delta Burke was fired from the series and Jean Smart left to pursue other goals. Two new characters were introduced: Allison Sugarbaker (Julia Duffy) and Carlene Frazier Dobber (Jan Hooks). Soon, Julia Duffy was taken out of the series and a final cast change brought in Bonnie Jean "B.J." Poteet (Judith Ivey). The series was very successful for CBS, lasting 7 seasons (163 episodes). Reruns from the series continue to air on Lifetime. In 1995, Delta Burke reconciled with the series creators and reprised her role of Suzanne Sugarbaker for the far less successful spin-off Women of the House, which co-starred Teri Garr and Patricia Heaton. Carter, Burke, and Bloodworth-Thomason had all previously worked together on the 1982-83 sitcom Filthy Rich, from which a lot of dialogue in Designing Women was recycled. Welcome to the Ashes to Ashes guide at TV.com. DI Alex Drake of the Metropolitan Police is taken hostage and shot, and wakes to find herself apparently thrown back in time to 1981. She quickly recognises DCI Gene Hunt and his team from detailed reports made by DCI Sam Tyler about his own trip to 1973. Initially sceptical about the surreal nature of her new environment, Alex, a modern, no-nonsense woman, clashed regularly with her sexist colleagues but had to learn to adjust while she strove to find her way back to 2008. As time passed, Alex started to accept her situation, and wonder whether her life in the future had been the dream. Executive Producer Jane Featherstone described this spin-off from Life on Mars as "a touch of Moonlighting teamed with a measure of Miami Vice." The show aimed to build on the success of its award-winning predecessor, resurrecting Philip Glenister's ever-popular detective while taking the opportunity to wink at 1980s fashions and attitudes. Ashes to Ashes is a Kudos production in association with Monastic Productions for the BBC.moreless

From creators Mark V. Olsen and Will Scheffer comes Big Love, the story of a man, Bill Henrickson, living in Salt Lake City with his three wives, three houses, and three families.

As if normal family life isn't enough trouble, Bill Henrickson (Bill Paxton, Twister, Thunderbirds) has everything in triple: three wives, three houses, three families. Bill's first and only legal wife is Barb (Jeanne Tripplehorn, Word of Honor) but he also shares the bedroom with middle wife Nicki (Chloe Sevigny, Boys Don't Cry, Dogville) and youngest wife Margene (Ginnifer Goodwin, Ed, Mona Lisa Smile). Bill also has three new adjoining houses, seven kids, and a booming hardware business. His closest friend and business partner at Home Plus, Don Embry (Joel McKinnon Miller), is also a polygamist. The series kicks in as Bill receives troublesome news about his father Frank (Bruce Dern, Last Man Standing), who lives in rural Utah in a fundamentalist community lead by Bill's father-in-law, the menacing "Prophet" Roman Grant (Harry Dean Stanton, Wild at Heart, The Green Mile).

Bill's younger brother Joey (Shawn Doyle, The Eleventh Hour) was once a star athlete in the NFL, but is now getting used to living in the compound with his wife Wanda (Melora Walters, Magnolia, The Butterfly Effect). Bill's mother Lois (Grace Zabriskie, Twin Peaks, Fried Green Tomatoes) is a descendant to the original founder of the Juniper Creek compound, and is still bitter for Roman Grant's hostile takeover for the leadership. Daveigh Chase (The Ring, Lilo & Stitch) plays Roman's latest wife, the child-bride Rhonda. Rounding out the cast are Amanda Seyfried (Veronica Mars, As the World Turns) as Bill and Barb's oldest daughter Sarah, Douglas Smith (Citizen Duane) as Ben, the adoring son, and Jolean Wejbe as Tancy, the precocious 8-year-old.

A talented, eclectic ensemble cast reunites the Joseph family in the hour-long family drama, Soul Food, an Edmonds Entertainment/State Street Pictures production in association with Paramount Network Television for Showtime. Soul Food was the first original Showtime series to receive a second season order from the network.

Based on the critically acclaimed film from writer/director George Tillman, Jr. the series Soul Food takes an honest, touching look at tradition and family life through the trials and tribulations of a tight-knit African-American family living in Chicago. Without missing a beat, Soul Food picks up where the 1997 film left off – with a family trying to do the best it can with what life has dealt them, while facing day to day turmoil that seems to permeate their lives.

Although the Joseph's beloved matriarch, Mama Joe (Irma P. Hall, Soul Food), has passed away, she is still there in spirit and her words of wisdom resound through her grandson Ahmad (Aaron Meeks), who is having a hard time adapting to his new role as "man of the house" since his parent's separation. Maxine (Vanessa Williams, Melrose Place) and Kenny (Rockmond Dunbar) found that time apart was the only palpable solution to their problems – at least for the time being. And while Lem (Darrin Dewitt Henson) and Bird (Malinda Williams, High School High) do their best to help reunite the couple, it soon becomes clear to the entire family that Maxine and Kenny just need some time on their own.

Teri (Nicole Ari Parker, Loving Jezebel) is wooed by her old company, Greene & Norris, and offered a partnership and chance to head the firm's labor department. However, this opportunity worries Damon (Boris Kodjoe, Love & Basketball) and Maxine who feel that Teri's panic attacks aren't yet a thing of the past. And although the family faces difficult hurdles, they always find their way back to the traditional Sunday dinner that allows them to share each other's company and recognize that they truly mean the world to each other.moreless
