A Colbert Christmas stars Stephen Colbert, host of The Colbert Report, as he pays tribute to his favorite holiday with a large cast of guest stars and eight original holiday songs. Stephen Colbert is enjoying the winter season in his cozy cabin up in "bear country." When he tries to leave the cabin one evening to go film his Christmas special with Elvis Costello, he hears a bear prowling outside and can't leave for fear of certain death. Trapped inside on what was supposed to be a magical evening, Colbert plays host to a series of talented guests as he tries to escape in time to film his special. Elvis Costello and Jon Stewart appear as themselves, while Toby Keith, Willie Nelson, John Legend, George Wendt, and Feist play the charming characters who help Stephen through his crisis. A Colbert Christmas features original music written by David Javerbaum, Adam Schlesinger, Nick Lowe, and Stephen Colbert. The soundtrack to A Colbert Christmas won the 2010 Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album.moreless

The Screen Actors Guild Awards is the only awards show created by and for actors. A randomly selected group of SAG members votes on each year's standout individual and ensemble performances with the final ballot being voted on by all 100,000 guild members, then convenes for one of TV's most genuine ceremonies. Actors from both television and film are honored, but no awards are handed out to the actual movies or shows. The Screen Actor's Guild award is considered to be an indicator of success at the Academy Awards. The bronze statuette which is known as the "Actor" depicts a naked man holding the masks of comedy and tragedy, it was originally sculpted by Edward Saenz and was designed by Jim Heimann and Jim Barrett.moreless

The U.S. Presidential Inauguration has been broadcast on national television since the 2nd Inauguration of Harry S. Truman in 1949. The Presidential Inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States took place on January 20th, 2009. The inauguration ceremony was telecast on FOX, ABC, NBC and all major television and news networks. It is believed to be one of the most watched events of all time by a global audience. Following the events of the 2008 Presidential campaign, the inauguration was particularly noteworthy for several reasons. Perhaps most notably, Mr. Obama was the first ever African American voted into office. Secondly, his election represented a political culture shift because he was the first man born after 1960 elected President. Fox political analysts and others believe he won the Presidency by breaking away from the status quo of Washington politics and demonstrating a fresh approach to the many problems facing the nation, including two wars and a downturn in the economy. Several events accompanied the inauguration, including a train ride recreating the route taken by Abraham Lincoln, concerts, parades, church services and ten post inaugural balls, many of which were available for the public to watch online.moreless

1MMs is NBC's answer to people who might change the channel during the commercial breaks of a television show. In an effort to grab the viewer's attention, these one-minute movies will air as a 30-second two-parters sometime during the commercials of a television show during prime time.

Each original movie will unfold in the first 30 seconds leading to a cliffhanger and a resolution in the final 30 seconds. They will air as interstitial programming between commercials -- perhaps when programming is delivered to the network a minute or less short of running time, providing a creative opportunity for a fresh, albeit succinct, approach. These new one-minute movies will cut out all of the cumbersome details that bog down traditional films and television shows. Rather than wasting time on character or thematic development, each short film will spend 30 seconds setting up a situation and reaching a cliffhanger before resolving in the final 30 seconds.

Not all these movies are exactly one-minute. Some are just a bit over or just a bit under the one-minute mark. The films will include various well-known actors of both the large and small screen, as well as feature the various writing and directing talents of various industry veterans.
