The HSPCA's mission is to promote respect for all animals and free them from suffering and abuse. The Houston SPCA is a private, nonprofit charity which receives no funding from the government, United Way, or any national animal groups. The HSPCA receives over 40,000 animals each year — an average of more than 100 animals per day. The majority are lost, homeless, or simply unwanted. While many people think that the Houston SPCA shelters only dogs and cats, in reality, small mammals like guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, ferrets and rabbits, as well as horses, cows, goats, pigs and other livestock-type animals also find care and shelter at the Houston SPCA. The mission of the HSPCA is to promote respect for all animals and free them from suffering and abuse. As an open-door animal shelter, the Houston SPCA accepts all animals in need. No animal is turned away due to species, size, or health. The doors of the Houston SPCA are open to all animals: domestic, livestock, exotic and wild. Last year, the Houston SPCA received: 9,767 dogs 7,889 puppies 8,427 cats 10,497 kittens 655 rabbits, hamsters, ferrets, gerbils and other small domestic companion animals 191 livestock animals 1,643 wildlife animalsmoreless

What Would You Do? is a reality hidden-camera show broadcast on ABC as part of the "Primetime" series. Hosted by John Quinones, the show sets up everday scenarios to gauge the reaction of or test the character of witnesses and passerby's, which are caught using hidden cameras. Some of the situations set up by the show include: a woman who says she has been drinking asking strangers to blow into a breathalyzer to help start her car, an out-of-control soccer coach verbally abusing a child, and a man trying to lure a visibly drunken woman out of a restaurant and back to his house. Many people ignore the situation and mind their own business. Others survey the situation and step in when they feel things have gone too far. Some even step in immediately to make their voices heard. The main question is: when faced with an ethical dilemma, would you do the right thing?moreless

Bullrun is the fastest, meanest balls-to-the-wall road rally in the world. Bullrun, which is hosted by Bill Goldberg, will put real people behind their favorite wheels in an all out rally across the United States, with a big money prize and even bigger bragging rights waiting at the finish line. The twelve teams will race over 4,000 miles, 9 states, 18 days, and use a total of 12,658 gallons of fuel. Each week one team will be eliminated, until there is finally only one team left to win the $200,000. The rules for Bullrun are: No GPS or Satellite Navigation systems used. No cell phones. No laptop computers. No radio or CD players. Speeding leads to severe penalties, such as a time penalty. An arrest will lead to immediate disqualification. Each start of day, cars can only leave when instructed to do so. Cars must start and finish each day under their own power, or the power of their drivers. Cars outside the maximum time allowed for each leg will get picked up by the 'Reaper' and towed – leading to disqualification.moreless
