Miss Universe is an annual beauty pageant broadcast by NBC and run by the Miss Universe Organization. In the contest, women from more than 80 countries contest for the crown and the title of Miss Universe, vying for the highest cumulative score in swimsuit, evening gown, and question-and-answer competitions. The overall winner receives a contract with the Miss Universe Organization, a chance to spread awareness of disease control, peace, and AIDS awareness across the globe, and the keys to an apartment in Trump Tower (Donald Trump owns the rights to the competition). The pageant aims to host a competition of women that are beautiful, yet are still intelligent, goal-oriented, and well-mannered. The contestants are usually chosen through national pageants in countries across the world, although some countries refuse to participate due to cost or local customs. Over the history of the Miss Universe pageant, the United States has taken the most titles (7), followed Venezuela (6), Puerto Rico (5), and Sweden (3).moreless

Wasted Spaces is a home improvement show on DIY hosted by Australian native master builder, television personality, and actor Karl Champley. Since 9 out 10 people complain that they do not have enough space in their home, chances are that you think so, too. In Wasted Spaces, Champley shows how to take advantage of all the space that one does have-which sometimes turns out to be enough! Champley aims to show that there are plenty of perfectly useable spaces in the average home that go unused, simply because the owners do not even realize that they are there. Champley is not afraid to bang down walls, open up the space under the stairs, or punch through a ceiling to make the cluttered homes that he takes on more spacious. Even for those who are not daring enough to take on something as extreme as changing any aspect on their house's structure, Champley has projects that can help clear clutter and make good use of space. In one episode, Champley demonstrates how to build a custom storage unit. So if your house seems to be shrinking, but the money for a bigger one just is not there, Wasted Spaces is a great resource for ideas to solve your problem on a budget.moreless
