Other than that characteristic, she actually knows various fighting moves and hates a lot of girly stuff like dresses. Voiced by: Jodi Bensons. Nina Neckerly, one of Patsy's best friends, she's very much the smart one of her friends. More on the bookish side and maybe a nice Squirrel Scout among everyone. Voiced by: Jill Talley. Brandy & Mr. Whiskers

    Disney Channel (ended 2006)
Disney's Brandy & Mr. Whiskers, an animated program from Walt Disney Television Animation, is the quintessential buddy comedy about a pampered pooch and an excitable, offbeat rabbit who must forge a friendship after they both fall out of an airplane and land right in the middle of the Amazon rain forest. While they often fight and bicker because there are very few similarities between them, they do share each other's fate and they must work together if they wish to survive in the jungle. However, they are not alone; amongst the jungle denizens they encounter a few new friends: Lola Boa, an over-analytical boa; Cheryl and Meryl, twin toucan sisters who are always fighting; Ed, a bumbling river otter; Margo, the diva; and several other characters. However, not all the jungle is kind to them, for they must constantly avoid many Amazonian dangers, weather they're avoiding being eaten alive or facing difficulties arisen by Gaspar, the antagonist and self-proclaimed leader of the Amazon.

    Characters
Brandy Harrington: Brandy Harrington is a member of the Florida Harringtons, a luxurious lineage of dogs who only know the finest things in life. However, after an encounter with Mr. Whiskers on a plane trip to a five-star spa, Brandy finds herself stuck in the middle of the Amazon without a way to get home. Despite her struggles in her new surroundings, she still knows how to make use of the environment, taking every precaution in order to always look her best; though with Mr. Whiskers by her side, such tasks aren't always possible. While Brandy may appear to be shallow and materialistic, she does care deeply her friends, even though exploiting them in order to get what she wants doesn't seem to be a problem.

Mr. Whiskers: Mr. Whiskers is a happy-go-lucky bunny who just wants to have fun, much to the dismay of other individuals. While Mr. Whiskers may annoy many people with his repugnant habits, he still never hesitates to lend a hand to a friend in need. Unfortunately, he's responsible for stranding himself and Brandy in the Amazon, which despite having caused some animosity between them, has also allowed their friendship to first blossom.

Lola Boa: Lola Boa, one of Brandy's new best friends, is typically the voice of reason among her friends' constant disputes; When things get a little wild, her reactions are often unpredictably negative. Despite this, she's a loyal friend who helps Brandy adapt to foreign life in the jungle, despite her disgust towards a snake eating raw meals. Lola mostly wants a nice, new set of arms, which is why she is very sensitive about the fact that she has none, often crying whenever people mock her otherwise.

Ed: Ed is a river otter who functions much better in the water than on land. While he may appear to be be clueless at times, he is quite wise in traditions of the jungle, despite his often dull expression of such knowledge and ongoing rambles about stories of little importance or relation to existing matters. Despite his flaws, he is one of Mr. Whiskers' few loyal friends, keeping close to him despite Brandy's indifference of his presence. Ed often ignores insults, for he prefers just to live a nice, quiet life among his friends.

Cheryl and Meryl: Cheryl and Meryl are two sassy twin toucans who have a bad habit of bickering and fighting with one another. Although They don't always speak in the most gentle tones and often blurt out insensitively, they deeply care about one another.

Margo: Margo is a stuck-up stick bug who's used to being part of the cool crowd, knowing all the most popular hang-outs in the Amazon. Even though she may openly belittle Brandy in order to raise her own social status, Margo still looks up to her new, strange friend at opportune times.

Gaspar Le Gecko: Gaspar is the self-proclaimed leader/entrepreneur/musical-director of the jungle, who isn't afraid to weasel his way to success. While most of the jungle fears him, Brandy and Mr. Whiskers' arrival to the jungle has caused him to lose some influence, as they are often challenging his authority. Gaspar's paramount target is Mr. Whiskers, whom he had planned to make a meal of ever since they first met.moreless

Martha Speaks Theme Song: Martha was an average dog. She went-bark.-And-woof. And-arrr. But when she ate some alphabet soup, then what happened was bizzare. On the way to Martha's stomach, the letters lost their way. They traveled to her brain and now- She's got a lot to say. Now she speaks. How now brown cow? Martha speaks. Yeah, she speaks and speaks and speaks and speaks and speaks... What's a caboose? When are we eating again? Martha speaks... Hey Joe, what d'ya know! My name's not Joe. She's not always right but still that Martha speaks. Hi there! She's got a voice; she's ready to shout. Martha will tell you what it's all about. Sometimes wrong, but seldom in doubt. Martha will tell you what it's all about. That dog's unique... Testing, one, two! Hear her speak! Martha speaks and speaks and speaks and speaks and... Communicates, enumerates, elucidates, exaggerates, indicates, and explicates, bloviates, and overstates, and (pant, pant, pant)hyperventilates! Martha...to reiterate, Martha Speaks!moreless

    Super Friends

    Super Friends

    Follow
    ABC (ended 1973)
SuperFriends was an animated series that premiered on ABC on September 8, 1973. The series was executive produced by the creative team of William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. The series featured the adventures of DC Comics book heroes Superman, Batman, Robin, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman. These five superheroes along with superheroes in training Wendy, Marvin, and Wonder Dog focused their abilities on putting away criminals, saving lives, and stopping terrible disasters after getting messages from their computer, the "TroubAlert."

Each episode of the SuperFriends was geared to present, not only action, but also some lesson of educational value. In the short run of the series, a number of other famous DC comic book heroes appeared: Plastic Man, The Flash, and Green Arrow.

The last new episode of the series entitled "The Watermen" was broadcast on December 22, 1973. The show continued in reruns until it was taken off the air on August 30, 1974. Two years later, however, the series was rebroadcast from February 7, 1976 to September 3, 1977. In an enduring testament to the popularity of the SuperFriends characters, they were later featured in a number of spin-offs and revivals.

In 1977, the Hanna-Barbera produced sixty-two cartoon featuring the Superfriends. These cartoons were shown on ABC as part of The All-New SuperFriends Hour. Each hour long episode featured four cartoons (one half-hour cartoon and three seven minute shorts). The hour-long show featured adventures of the original fives superheroes from SuperFriends. Wendy, Marvin, and Wonder Dog, however, did not appear. They were replaced by the shape-shifting Wondertwins Zan and Jayna and their space-monkey Gleek. The All-New SuperFriends Hour ran from September 10, 1977 to September 2, 1978 and was replaced in the next season by Challenge of the SuperFriends and SuperFriends (1978).

Challenge of the SuperFriends was one of the most popular incarnations of SuperFriends that featured the Justice League of America against the Legion of Doom. This half-hour series ran for sixteen episodes from September 9, 1978 to September 15, 1979. It was accompanied in its run by SuperFriends (1978) which also presented sixteen half-hour episodes from September 9, 1978 to September 15, 1979. These episodes featured the same characters as The All-New SuperFriends Hour in further adventures.

In 1979, Hanna-Barbera discontinued Challenge of the SuperFriends. Reruns of old SuperFriends episodes were mixed with eight new episodes and were presented under the new title The World's Greatest SuperFriends. The World's Greatest Superfriends was a hour long series that ran from September 22,1 979 to September 27, 1980.

In the 1980's, SuperFriends continued in a number of incarnations. From September 1980 to September 1984, Hanna-Barbara produced sixty-six seven minute shorts (see Superfriends (1980)). Twenty-Four of these shorts were shown in the 1980-1981 season, accompanied by SuperFriend's reruns, under the title The Superfriends Hour. In the 1981-1982 season, sixteen new shorts were presented as a part of the half-hour long Superfriends. These new shorts were, of course, accompanied by reruns. The 1982-1983 season, however, was all reruns. Although Hanna-Barbara produced twenty-four new SuperFriends shorts, ABC decided to show only reruns of the SuperFriends in a thirty minute program entitled The Best of SuperFriends. Most of the unaired shorts (called by some "The Lost Episodes"), however, would later air in syndication.

The 1984-1985 season, new half-hour SuperFriends episodes would return to ABC under the title SuperFriends: The Legendary Super Powers Show. SuperFriends: The Legendary Super Powers Show was a half-hour sixteen episode cartoon that featured Superman, Batman, Robin, Wonder Woman, and the Teen Titans Firestorm and Cyborg. In the 1985-1986 season, these same characters would appear along with Aquaman, Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkman, and Samurai in the half-hour The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians. This final incarnation of Hanna-Barbara's SuperFriends offered ten new episodes. On September 30, 1986 with the end of the last episode of The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians, Hanna-Barbara's twelve year run of original SuperFriends episodes was over. The SuperFriends, however, would continue to live on in syndication.

First Telecast: September 8, 1973 Last Telecast: December 22, 1973

    Episodes: 16 Color Episodes (16 one-hour episodes)

Follow-up Shows: The All-New SuperFriends Hour, SuperFriends (1978), Challenge of the SuperFriends, The World's Greatest SuperFriends, SuperFriends (1980), SuperFriends: The Legendary Super Powers Show, and The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians.moreless

In 2065, former astronaut and millionaire Jeff Tracy forms an secret organization named International Rescue. Its mission is to intervene when human life is at threat and nobody else is able to help. They're based on a small tropical island in the Pacific. While it appears to all the world as a reclusive millionaire's retreat, complete with luxurious hillside house (appropriately in the International Style of architecture) and swimming pool, hidden beneath the house and inside a cliff face are various facilities for the enormous complex where their equipment is built, maintained and stored. The equipment, including the specialized Thunderbird vehicles, is designed and assembled by Brains, a brilliant engineer fiercely loyal to Jeff. Supporting the team is Lady Penelope, a famous society figure who secretly acts as their London operative, assisted by her butler, Parker. The five Thunderbird craft are piloted by each of Jeff's five sons, all named after members of America's Mercury program: - Thunderbird 1, piloted by Scott, named after Scott Carpenter. This ramjet-powered plane is their fastest aircraft, always first on the scene to assess the situation and coordinate the rescue. - Thunderbird 2, piloted by Virgil (after Virgil "Gus" Grissom." A fan favorite, Thunderbird 2 is the heavy lift air transport, responsible for carrying all manner of large and bulky machinery to rescue sites. - Thunderbird 3 is piloted by Alan (after Alan Shepard) or John (after John Glenn,) depending on who is on station in Thunderbird 5. 3 is the spaceship for International Rescue. - Thunderbird 4, piloted by Gordon (after Gordon Cooper), is a mini-submarine usually carried to sites inside Thunderbird 2. - Thunderbird 5 is manned by John and Alan on rotating monthly shifts. It's an orbital space platform where all communications around the world can be monitored and issues alerts to Jeff whenever trouble arises. International Rescue insists on complete secrecy. Their identities aren't known to anyone outside the organization and photography of their equipment is forbidden. Thunderbirds was produced by Gerry Anderson and was the culmination of his Supermarionation process, which used marionette puppets instead of live actors. Originally intended for children, the show still has a devoted fanbase of adult viewers, both in the United Kingdom where it originated and in the United States, where it was syndicated in the 1960s and 70s. The series spawned three theatrical features. Thunderbirds Are Go! and Thunderbird Six were produced soon after the series left the air, although neither met with box office success. In 2004, a live action feature of the same name was made without Anderson's involvement. It drew scathing comments from professional movie reviewers who compared it unfavorably to the original show.moreless

The season after the original Saved by the Bell series ended, Peter Engel Productions and NBC rolled out Saved by the Bell: The New Class, also set at Bayside High School but featuring a new group of young actors, with original cast members Dennis Haskins (Principal Richard Belding) and Dustin Diamond ("Screech" Powers, who came along in season 2) providing some continuity. Although it never was as popular as the original series, The New Class had enough staying power to last for seven seasons, providing an anchor for the Saturday morning "TNBC" (teen NBC) lineup, even with its necessarily revolving-door cast, which featured a lot of bright and attractive young actors. Reruns have been shown on the USA Network for a number of years, but as of August 2001, they are not scheduled anymore.moreless
