The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!

The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!

    (ended 1989)
Welcome to The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! guide at TV.com. Cartoon Summary The Mario Bros.; Mario and Luigi, were two plumbers from Brooklyn. On one of their plumbing jobs, they were in the middle of unclogging a bathtub drainpipe. Without any warning, the drain suddenly pulled the brothers in, and warped them to the Mushroom Kingdom. Upon their arrival, they rescued Princess Peach Toadstool and Toad from King Bowser Koopa and his army. Although Princess Toadstool and Toad are now safe, the Koopas are still at large. On top of that, the warp zone leading to Brooklyn had closed. It's up to Mario and Luigi to not only liberate the Mushroom World from King Koopa, but to find a way back to Brooklyn. Live Action Summary Set after the events of the Donkey Kong games, but prior to the events of the cartoon, this portion of the show shows us how Mario and Luigi used to live, running their plumbing shop in Brooklyn. Their friends include Radigator and Edison the Electrician, not to mention the many guest stars that come to visit. The Theme Song: Plumber's Rap Hey paisanos! Do the Mario! Swing your arms from side to side Come on it's time to go Do the Mario! Take one step And then again Let's do the Mario All together now! Come on now! Just like that! Character Guide Mario Mario The main character, and unofficial leader of the heroes. Being a plumber, he can can do just about anything that involves plumbing, and he can use plumbing tools for a lot more than just plumbing! Mario also has a huge taste for Italian food. On this show, he and Luigi got sucked down a drain in Brookyln which took them to the Mushroom Kingdom, and now they have to find their way home. Luigi Mario Mario's younger brother. Although he tends to have a more cowardly attitude towards danger than Mario, he's probably the saner of the two. Unfortunately for Luigi, the others tend to treat him like a fall boy, causing him to end up doing a lot of dirty work. Like his bro, he's a plumbing pro, and he has a fondness for Italian cuisine. Princess Peach Toadstool She's the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom, which has been taken over by the Koopas. She's also the most reasonable thinker of the group. She and the Marios have to find a way to stop the Koopas so she can reclaim her kingdom. NOTE: On the cartoons, she was never called Peach, so the guide will usually refer to her as Princess or sometimes Princess Toadstool for continuity's sake. Please refer to her as Princess in your submissions. Toad Princess' assistant. Toad often has a lot to say, and usually cracks jokes here and there. Though he doesn't look like he's capable of much, he's proven he can pull through when things get tough, and is often fairly resourceful. King Bowser Koopa The leader of the Koopa Troop is big, bad, and proud of it. He's friends with no one, and even his henchmen are treated poorly by him. However, he does have a sense of humor, and it shows. His goal in life is to conquer the Mushroom World, one land at a time. He usually hangs out with either Mouser, Triclyde, a Troopa, or sometimes all three of them. In many episodes, he will don a costume and go by a different name, usually just for the heck of it. NOTE: On this show, he was never called Bowser, so the guide will usually refer to him as Koopa for continuity's sake. Please refer to him as Koopa in your submissions. Important Notes for Submitting information: Episode Recap: An episode recap should be VERY detailed, almost narrating the episode. One should be able to read a recap and have as much knowledge of the episode as someone who saw the episode. We encourage you to submit an episode recap if you able to watch any episode. Episode Notes: Notes should provide key information in little bullet points. But I still want all notes in complete sentences. Goofs: Goofs should follow the same format as Notes. Please make sure that when you submit a goof, the REASON it is a goof is clearly mentioned or understood. Quotes: Quotes need to follow a specific format or they will not be accepted. For single-line quotes: Hello, I'm Mario! For conversations: Mario: Hello, I'm Mario! Luigi: Hi. I am Luigi! Koopa: Hello! I'm your king, Koopa! For simultaneous speaking: Mario: Hello, I'm Mario! Luigi: Hi. I am Luigi! Mario/Luigi: And we're the Mario Brothers!!! To add actions: Mario: Hello, I'm Mario! Luigi: Hi. I am Luigi! Koopa: Hello! I'm your king, Koopa! [Koopa jumps on Mario and Luigi] To add short character descriptions: Mario: Hello, I'm Mario! Luigi: Hi. I am Luigi! Koopa: Hello! I'm your king, Koopa! [Koopa jumps on Mario and Luigi] Mario/Luigi [flattened]: Ow! You will need to use good grammar when submitting entries at this guide. Capitalize and punctuate correctly. Unless mistakes are minimal, I will not be able to accept your entry. My Gym Partner's a Monkey

    My Gym Partner's a Monkey

    Cartoon Network (ended 2008)
In Cartoon Network's animated series My Gym Partner's a Monkey, going to school almost literally becomes a trip to the jungle. 12-year-old Adam Lyon becomes the only human student at Charles Darwin Middle School, where the animal inhabitants of the local zoo and aquarium send their kids. With signs that warn, "Do Not Eat the Other Students," Adam has his hands full just making it through middle school alive. Ever since a typo mix-up that involved switching the last name, Lyon to Lion, a 12 year old boy named Adam Lyon was accidentally put in a school called Charles Darwin Middle School, which is an all-animal school where the parents of the animal children of a local zoo and aquarium send the children to, making Adam the only student that is actually a human. Charles Darwin Middle School is like a rainforest because the school supplies animals of all kinds (including some not native to the jungle) living in harmony in their surroundings. Monkeys and chimpanzees travel the hallways by vines or swinging on tires between their classes. Underwater hallways run the length of the school where the aquatic creatures travel. Around the school, birds just fly freely. Even in only one day, Adam has to worry about being alive because of the warning signs that say, "Do not eat the other students." Adam is always the last one to be picked in gym class. He must always try to fit in with all the animals, like gorillas, girraffes, snakes, birds, fish and bats. Every single class is like a challenge for the human who is alone. It's even tougher when you have Virgil Sharkowski, a bull shark who waits to bully Adam around. When Adam and Jake Spidermonkey meet they become friends fast, but Adam discovers having a monkey as a best friend can be as crazy as it is fun. A few years ago, a friend of Julie McNally Cahill and Tim Cahill mentioned how he used to spend time with a monkey at an alternative school as part of growing up. They were inspired to pitch again after pitching their first animated cartoon called Carrotblanca. This is where the concept of My Gym Partner's a Monkey came from, which they passed to Cartoon Network. They also were pitching a more elaborate idea. Cartoon Network chose the elaborate idea, the idea in which this show is about. Theme Song I used to go to a human school where everyone was the same but now I go to an animal school 'cuz Lyon's my last name My Gym Partner's a Monkey (Monkey Monkey Monkey!) My Gym Partner's a Monkey (Monkey Monkey Monkey!) Bull shark, porcupine, I-don't-know-what, Going to this school's a pain in the-- (Adam! What? I was going to say neck! Oh. That's okay then.) My Gym Parter's a Monkey (Monkey Monkey Monkey) My Gym Partner's a Monkey (Monkey Monkey Monkey) My Gym Partner's a Monkey (MON-KAY MON-KAY MON-KAY) My Gym Partner's a Monkey! Character Guides Here are some character guides for some of the characters that have to do with My Gym Partner's a Monkey. Some of the characters in the character guide are minor. Main Characters: Adam Lyon: Adam is the only human student currently attending Charles Darwin Middle School. He transferred from his old school when there was a typo mix-up involving his last name, Lyon. In some episodes, he complains about the school, for example, in one episode, he complained about the lunch. Also, he tried to get out of attending the school because he was getting hurt often, but he has given that up and accepted going to C.D.M.S. Adam is also bad at sports, is lactose intolerant, can spell words correctly, and is in love with a girl named Kerry. Jake Spidermonkey: Jake is an energetic spider monkey and is one of Adam's friends. He helps Adam in some difficult situations although sometimes he's the one that caused the whole thing. Also, Jake has an interest in his own butt and lives with his own parents at the local zoo. Other Students: Virgil "Bull" Sharkowski: Bull is a bull shark who likes to bully others. His methods of bulling include threatening someone, stealing a student's lunch, and beating them up. When he doesn't have water, it makes it harder for him to breathe. Lupe Toucan: She is a toucan who has a Spanish accent and spreads gossip. Lupe is also very tough and can be angered easily. Ingrid Giraffe: Ingrid is a shy giraffe who is very tall and sometimes, her face is not seen. She tries to fit in, however her height adds to her feelings of insecurity. When someone needs help, she might be there to help the student in need. She also has an unrequited crush at Adam, although he never notices. She is actually the weakest member of Adam's group of friends and can be scared with almost anything, but her friends are almost always there to help her out. Henry Armadillo: An armadillo who is like a comic relief character in the series, wears glasses, and has a southern accent (which is odd, considering Henry is actually a transfer student from Greenland.) He can sometimes be used as a ball and he is the news anchor for the school's news program. Slips Python: A green tree python who is likable, easygoing, and is an underachiever. He can believe almost anything, making him very gullible and daydreams constantly. Windsor Gorilla: Windsor is a gorilla who gives wisdom to everyone. He is as strong as he is smart, and has dreams of becoming the world's first successful animal ventriloquist (which is hard as most animals confuse puppets for living creatures.) Windsor lives with his mom (who is apparently very hot for a gorilla) and has issues with his father. Despite Windsor's intellect, most people don't understand what he is talking about. Phinnius Porpoise: Phinnius is part of an advanced class taught by Mr. Blowhole. In the class, he is part of a group of smart kids called The Spiffies and seems to make fun of Adam because Phinnius thinks that Adam is dumb. Dickie Sugarjumper: A lemur by nature, he has been a comedian, a boy cheerleader, and tries to be as much as an individual as possible. When Charles Darwin temporarily adapted a school wide uniform policy, he worked with Adam to bring the school back to it's more wild ways. As part of his jokes, he says, "How's your trousers?" Duke Sloth: Duke is a sloth who speaks and does everything slowly. Daniel Tentacles: Like Phinnius, Daniel is part of the advanced class and The Spiffies. Larry Raccoon (Dingbang): Larry Raccoon was expelled from the school for being a delinquent. He came back as a panda bear named Dingbang to try to receive an education again, however when Jake broke the fish tube, water flooded the gym and his costume washed away. After that, the students threw dodge-balls at him, driving Larry away. LaTanya Hippo: A menacing, scary girl student who sometimes speaks with an evil voice. She is usually seen hanging out with Margaret Rhino and Joanie Ox. They all have perfect attendence at C.D.M.S. Eddie Panther: Normally a background character with only a few lines, he's noticeable due to his weird head-gear that he wears around his head. Alistair: A white tiger who used to go to Charles Darwin Middle School who by everyone else's accounts, was a real jerk and full of himself. He was transferred to Siberia where he remains to this day. He was replaced by Henry Armadillo and nearly returned when Henry almost had to move away. Staff: Principal Pixiefrog: Poncharello Pixiefrog is the principal of Charles Darwin Middle School. He is a very small frog, about eight ounces to be precise. That is small enough to be squished by others. Although his size isn't large, he can actually wrestle someone that is larger than him. Principal Pixiefrog is unlucky sometimes, but confident. At times, he is worried the school can get sued (this is his worst nightmare) and will do anything to prevent it from being sued, though he hasn't always been successful. His rival is a wolverine, who begins as a substitute principal, quickly becomes a regular principal, and is eventually promoted to superintendent of Pixiefrog's school and presumably several other animal schools. Nurse Gazelle: Nurse Gazelle is the school nurse. Her brain is the size of a dry soy nut, so that makes it hard to do things. Some of her answers never turn out right. Her first name is later revealed to be Jacqueline. Coach Gills: Coach Gills is a goldfish who is in a fish bowl and is the gym teacher. Some people mistake her for a male because of her grave voice. She may look sweet, however she is no pushover and never waits to give Adam a hard time. Assistant Coach Horace Ferret: He is a ferret and Coach Gills's assistant. Assistant Coach Ferret pushes Coach Gills around in a cart. Mrs. Warthog: Mrs. Warthog is the secretary and Principal Pixiefrog's assistant. She does most of the filing for the school (when she's not doing other things.) She seems to have a crush on the tiny frog despite their differences with each other and sometimes provides odd but helpful wisdom to students when they need it. Her full name is revealed to be Geraldine Sharon Warthog. Miss Chameleon: She is the school art teacher and drama instructor. Like a real chameleon, she can camouflage and teaches under a lamp while sitting on a stick. Miss Chameleon is sometimes considered a drama queen and directs all school plays. Mr. Cyrus Q. Hornbill: Mr. Hornbill is rhinoceros teacher who teaches stalking and other lessons. He uses Adam as the "prey" and gives treats from a cup to every student who answers a question correctly. Once, he was in love with Mrs. Tusk. Mrs. Loon: She is a loon that teaches creative writing and painting classes. When someone does something wrong, she points it out. Mrs. Eugenia Tusk: She is the school lunch lady. Sometimes, Mrs. Tusk can be greedy. Some of the food she serves include wormy joes, twigs n' berries, and mud squares. Mr. Mandrill: He is a mandrill that is the school band director, school guidance counselor, and detention teacher. Mr. Mandrill sometimes helps students when they have something wrong. His full name is Maurice Bob Mandrill, and he has been unlucky at love in the past. But now he seems to be developing a relationship with Windsor's mom, which while rocky at first, Windsor and Mr. Mandrill now seem to be at least good friends. Also, he is a bongo drum expert. Mr. Blowhole: He is a killer whale (also called an orca) who teaches in the advanced class (Spiffies' class). In the class, Mr. Blowhole teaches students how to spell words while in a tank. Usually a killer whale call can be heard. Other characters: Chad: A really mean, human boy that picked on Adam back when Adam went to the normal human school of Chester Arthur Middle School. He mostly only appears in season 1 and 2 episodes. Kerry: A nice, human girl who goes to Chester Arthur Middle School, she is Adam Lyon's love interest. She has attended a Charles Darwin Middle School dance with Adam first disguised as a giraffe, then just as herself. She developed a friendship with Lupe and Ingrid at the dance as a result. She and Adam have almost kissed on several occasions, but something always interrupts their moments. In fact, its revealed that the only time they've ever gotten to kiss so far was when Adam and Kerry were babies. She's a big Jiminy Japoopy fan (along with Windsor) and she also shares Adam's interests of liking clowns and nearly went on a vacation to an amusement park based on clowns with Adam. Even though they didn't, they still shared a tender moment on Hawaii. She sometimes gets frustrated with the incompetence of the staff at C.D.M.S. though. Amazon Kevin: A T.V. actor who comes across as a rugged adventurer, he bills himself as a man's man and was once Adam's idol. That star faded however when Adam learned how much the animals despise Kevin and also when Kevin was revealed to not actually be as tough as he claimed. His current status is unknown. Euripedes Sharkowski: Virgil's smaller (but older) and much more vicious and mean-spirited sister! Before Virgil, She used to be the bully at Charles Darwin Middle School. When Virgil couldn't teach Adam how to be more aggressive, Euripedes stepped in and with her training, Adam finally managed to pass a course that he couldn't pass before. She goes to an all animal high school along with the older brothers of Jake and Windsor, as well as the older sisters of Slips, Lupe, and Ingrid. Dr. Tom E. Tamarin: Although he only left Charles Darwin Middle School two years ago, he has already become a successful doctor operating both human and animal cases all because he grew a mustache in sixth grade. However, the stress sometimes gets to him and he even told Adam Lyon how to save Jake Spidermonkey when Adam thought that Jake had a moustache. Like Jake, he also has an obsession with his butt, although Tom E. has his obsession Far more under control and helps Jake get his butt obsession more under control. (Larry) I. Didn't: A man of Asian descent, he was once the head of a circus act called MASA (which stood for Most Amazing Simian Acrobats.) He was also temporarily a teacher at Charles Darwin Middle School when Principal Pixiefrog needed some extra help at the vast campus. Lord (Saucy) Sauceypants: Jake Spidermonkey's identical looking cousin, Lord Saucy seems to have it made as he's living the high life with reclusive rock star Doobie Broadway Jr. Jake and Saucy once traded places with each other so that Saucy could get an education and a day at normal life, and Jake could live the good life. As it turns out, the well-meaning Saucy was unfit to be a productive student and Jake discovered that Saucy's life wasn't all that great. Saucy had to do everything for Doobie due to the rock star's career stalling. Thankfully, Jake got Doobie another gig, allowing both Saucy and Doobie to continue living at Doobie's lavish estate, and giving Adam, Jake, and Saucy the run of the place while Doobie is on tour. Jiminy Japoopy: Born Jerimiah Japoopinski, Windsor has been a fan of this rockstar ever since he got his first tooth. Kerry and Mr. Mandrill are also fans of his. Gorillas are big supporters of Jiminy's music and are usually able to get into his concerts for free. But Windsor over-reacted during one tour of his, and has thusly been banned from attending his concerts, although he tried once again to attend a concert of his disguised as a human, and got in trouble for over-reacting once again. Substitute Principal/Principal/ Superintendant Wolverine: One time, when Principal Pixiefrog was successfully sued, Poncharello lost his identity and was unable to work. So a substitute Principal was hired, and he was a Wolverine. He turns out to be much more aggressive and vicious, constantly threatening to bite animal students on the buttocks if they don't shape up. He left after Poncharello snapped out of his depression though. He later returned as a regular Principal, as Principal Wolverine at a rival school of Charles Darwin Middle School. He later got promoted to Superintendant of Charles Darwin Middle School and the animal schools that are a part of Superintendant Wolverine's district branch. Despite his demeanor, he can sometimes be an understanding, fair-minded guy.moreless

Sabrina the Teenage Witch: The Complete Animated Series

Sabrina the Teenage Witch: The Complete Animated Series

    ABC (ended 2000)
The show was made in 1999. It is the spin-off to Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, the sitcom. This cartoon was completely different from the show itself. It featured our main character Sabrina except as a 12 year-old in Jr. High School just developing her powers. Her best friends are Chloe Flan and Harvey Dwight Kinkle. Chloe is the only mortal that knows that Sabrina is a witch, and Harvey is still Sabrina's secret crush. Together they have many adventures. Her rival is Gem Stone, the equivalent of Libby Chessler from the original show, and is incredibly rich. She still has the same aunts: Hilda and Zelda Spellman except they are teenagers, and she has an additional household member, Uncle Quigley. In this show even though Sabrina has her magic, she relies on a Spookie Jar to sometimes to help her cast spells. All of these characters help make the show as great as it was. Unfortunately Sabrina, the Teenage Witch was still greater so the show ended with only one season of 65 episodes. Though it has ended, it still is a great addition in Sabrina history and Viacom productions. However it wasn't the end for Sabrina: the show was slightly brought back in Oct. 2002 as a Nickelodeon TV-Movie! Sabrina the Animated Series: Friends Forever. Trivia(Not Goofs) -Did you know that this series was so popular that WB ended up making another spin-off called Sabrina's Secret Life -This series suffered the same fate of many Disney series, with only 65 episodes -Salem appeared in every single episode of this series -Hilda and Zelda are both voiced by Melissa Joan Hart, who played Sabrina in Sabrina: The Teenage Witch -Uncle Quiggley was created for this series, and only appears again in the spin-off Sabrina's Secret Life, but never is even mentioned in Sabrina The Teenage Witch DVD Release There is currently a DVD release in North America and Europe. Each DVD comes with 4 episodes and introductions by Melissa Joan Hart. The titles include: - A Witchmas Carol, that comes with the title episode, along with "Board & Sorcery", "Has Anybody Seen My Quigley", and "The Grandparent Trap". - Witch In Training, that comes with "Shrink To Fit", "Strange New World", "The Importance Of Being Norma", and "Anywhere But Here". - Bat Attack!, that comes with "Nothin' Says Lovin' Like Somethin' From a Coven", "Witchery Science Theater", "The Bat Pack", and "Field Of Screams" - Sabrina's World, that comes with "You Said A Mouse-ful", "Tale Of Two Kitties", "Key To My Heart", and "What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted?" There is also a release by General Mills with the episodes "Witch Switch" and "What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted?" These are no longer commercially available.moreless

"Loonatics is part of a wider effort by Warner Bros. to boost classic franchises: A new Batman movie and a remake of "Superman" also are in the works. The potential revenue is massive: If "Loonatics" is a hit on Saturday morning, for example, it is likely to ripple through the company's merchandising, home-video and movie divisions. "That's the ultimate goal of all kids programming," says Mr. Janollari. "If we score, it's a gold mine." Aaahh!!! Real Monsters

    Aaahh!!! Real Monsters

    Nickelodeon (ended 1997)
If you think your school is a dump, think yourself lucky you don't go to the Monster Academy. It's an UNDERNEATH one!

But then again, this is no ordinary school, and Ickis, Krumm and Oblina are no ordinary students either... Welcome to the land of AAAHH!!! Real Monsters, where, at the Monster Academy, up-and-coming students learn the terrifying tricks of the monster trade, and get the necessary qualifications for a life of advance scarifying (their GCS-Eeks?).

Here, the insecure Ickis, the stinky-armpitted Krumm, and the candycane-shaped Oblina deal with issues like how to best scare supermarket shoppers, where to hide under the bed, and what to do with your eyeballs when you're not holding them in your mouth (here's a hint: juggle them).

All of this goes on under the watchful eyes of their teacher, the fearful Gromble. While these walking nightmares always find new ways to get into trouble, they survive their adventures by sticking together, sometimes literally!

Did you Know? A movie was once considered by the creators.

    *Characters*

Ickis: A rabbit-eared, 34-toothed, yellow eyed, pink furred monster. He is constantly losing his Monster Manual. Hates Gromble.

Krumm: Very hairy, with blue lips, and eyes held constantly in his hands. Usually he keeps his eyes in water at night or in his mouth when he needs his arms.

Oblina: When you hear the term "Skinny as a stick", it's referring to Oblina. Has a white body with black stripes and bulging eyes like a slug or snail. Has four teeth, four strands of hair on her head, and the most intellegent of the bunch. She can even pull organs out of her body!

Gromble: Has a green beard, green fur, black hands, yellow teeth, bulging eyes line Oblina's, and bright red lips. Head teacher of the Monster Academy. Constantly punishing Zimbo and Snorch. Common Quote: "Pay attention, Ickis."moreless

The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

    ABC (ended 1991)
The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh was a charming animated series that captured both kids and their parents with all-new outings featuring Pooh and the whole gang in the 100 Acre Wood. The world-famous bear, created by British author, A.A. Milne. He is joined by his young master, Christopher Robin. The ever-bouncy Tigger. The glum donkey, Eeyore. The incurable know-it-all, Rabbit. The always-confused Owl. The squeaky Piglet and the mother and son team of Kanga and Roo. Featuring quality animation along with original songs and scores, this series preserves the touching emotional qualities and "not just for kids" humor of the original Winnie the Pooh books. The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh was part of what many consider Disney's "Golden Age," meaning the studio had quality writers, characters, theme songs, etc. Some other shows during this time were Gummi Bears, Talespin, Ducktales, and Darkwing Duck Characters Winnie the Pooh: Winnie the Pooh is the fun-loving bear. He is very caring and concerned about all of his friends. Pooh is friends with everyone in the Hundred Acre Woods. Some of his very good companions are Christopher Robin and Piglet. Pooh also loves honey. Piglet: Piglet is the small Piglet with big hopes. He believes that even though he isn't very big, he can do what his friends do. When they all go on adventures, Piglet is a little frightened, but he goes anyway because he is a such a good friend and will try to overcome his fears. Rabbit: Rabbit can be a bit serious sometimes. He loves to plant gardens that are always eaten by some crows and accidentally bounced on by Tigger. Rabbit builds scarecrows to get rid of the crows, sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. He can give some good advice to his friends. Eeyore: Eeyore is the slow-moving donkey. He tries over and over to build his houses, but someone may bounce or fall on it. Other times the wind blows it down or the weather. He always has his friends to help him rebuild it though. Eeyore also has a tail that is pinned on that happens to fall off occasionally. Tigger: Tigger loves to bounce, he tries to bounce higher each time. His bouncing can break things if it gets a big wild. One of his good friends is Roo, he taught him about bouncing and its fun. Kanga: Kanga is Roo's mother. She is very nice to everyone in the Hundred Acre Woods. Kanga is always helping others, or offering some snacks that she may have baked. Roo: Roo's mother is Kanga. He likes to bounce like Tigger. When his friends come around, he usually comes along with them. He was very happy when he moved to the Hundred Acre Woods. One of his best friends is Tigger. Christopher Robin: Christopher Robin is a very nice, young boy. He likes taking his friends on adventures. When they may have a problem with something, he usually figures it out or helps them. He is very good friends with Pooh. Theme Song Gotta get up, I gotta get goin' I'm gonna see a friend of mine He's round and he's fuzzy I love him because He's just Pooh Bear, Winnie the Pooh Bear Lookin' for fun, chasin' some hunny bees Pooh Bear I know he's out there Rumblee tumblee, climin' a honey tree Fun never ends for us, we're so adventurous Least every now and again And when we're alone and there's nobody home It's nice to be able to count on a friend Like Pooh Bear, Winnie the Pooh Bear Wherever you go, oh won't you take me please Pooh Bear, I gotta be there It's me and it's you Silly old Winnie the Pooh... In 1989, Disney's Gummi Bears, which ran for 4 successful seasons on NBC, moved to ABC and merged with The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh with all-new episodes for Saturday mornings. Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids

    CBS (ended 1984)
Live action bumpers featuring Bill Cosby were set around animated episodes of Fat Albert and The Cosby Kids, a series about a group of urban adolescents growing up in a Philadelphia neighborhood. The show was based on Cosby's '60s stand up comedy monologues about his childhood. The episodes revolved around the daily life lessons learned by Albert and his friends. Topics ranged from social issues to personal introspection and were blended with humor and music. Among the many great characters that inhabited Fat Albert's world were Rudy, Mushmouth, Donald, Bill, Weird Harold and Russell. In 1979 the show was re-titled The New Fat Albert Show and featured a new segment called The Brown Hornet, a send-up of superhero cartoons starring a larger-than-life African-American crime fighter in outer space. In 1984, the show was syndicated and renamed The Adventures of Fat Albert and the Cosby kids. It ended the same year. Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids enjoyed one of the longest careers in Saturday morning cartoon history. There are plans to release the whole series on DVD over the course of 2005. Jem

    Jem

    ABC (ended 1988)
Showtime, Synergy. Those famous words were spoken by Jem throughout her three year run from 1985-1988. Jem was a beloved 80s rock cartoon that capitalized on the popularity of MTV that perfectly captured the decade's music, fashion and lingo. To this day, Jem is still considered a Truly Outrageous animated series that celebrates the power of love, friendship, ambition and rock 'n roll.

Jerrica Benton's father left her a very special gift after he died. That gift was Synergy, a holographic computer system that can create realistic holograms of virtually anything. Using special star-shaped earrings, Synergy transforms Jerrica into the glamorous pop singer, Jem. Along with Kimber, Aja and Shana whom are called the Holograms, they have many adventures that take them to places in the US, France, China and Italy.

Not far behind are their competition, the Misfits, a group led by Pizzazz with her friends Roxy and Stormer. Eventually both groups add a new member to their bands. Raya becomes the new drummer while Shana goes to guitar, and Jetta becomes the new saxophonist for the Misfits. With their additions, both Jem and the Holograms and the Misfits have many new adventures in Mexico, England, Shangri-La and across the U.S.

The Stingers, a new trio, come to the States and begin to shake things up between Jem and the Holograms and the Misfits. Riot, Rapture and Minx begin to cause problems, all on their own. All three groups have a unique music showcased in the musical videos that appear in every episode.

Jem originally premiered in 1985 in short segment cartoon inserts between two boys cartoons called Super Saturday/Sunday. Jem ran for three seasons from fall 1985 to spring 1988 with 65 total episodes. The show was then re-aired on the USA Network into early 1990.
