    The Biography Channel
Mobsters is a documentary TV series developed by the Biography Channel that puts the spotlight on some of history's most infamous gangsters and all that went on during their reigns. Learn about just what made these mobsters the head of the roost, including the deviousness of the Irish punks the Westies, the former foot-soldier turned gang boss Tony Accardo, and even the Mafia Don, Santo Trafficante, a suspect in the assassination of J.F.K. While known for their crimes, some mobsters are known for their downright eerie ability to manipulate those around them. Like James "Whitey" Bulger. One of the most legendary Boston gangsters for more than twenty years, his machinations and elusiveness led to FBI's "Deal with the Devil", an informant ring that had kept him free and clear of jail time. Frank Nitti had been merely an enforcer until Al Capone was sent away for tax evasion. With Capone gone, Nitti became an expander, eventually pushing the influence of the Mob into the labor field and even Hollywood studios. Mobsters were an influential part of American culture and the Biography Channel does all it can to share the impact of these few well-known men.moreless

    CNN (ended 2011)
Nationally syndicated radio talk show host Glenn Beck became even more visible in 2006 with his first television commentary show, CNN's Glenn Beck, which was at the time, the fastest growing TV talk show on cable. In 2009, Beck's show moved over to the Fox News Channel. Getting his start in radio after winning a contest to be a DJ for an hour, Beck began his talk show career at Tampa, Florida's 970 WFLA-AM, going to the number one slot in less than a year. The Glenn Beck Program radio show is syndicated through the Premiere Radio Network on over 300 radio stations as well as XM Satellite Radio, making it the third highest rated national radio talk show with adults 25 to 54. A recovering alcoholic, Beck shares his triumphs, struggles, and discoveries on the shows and isn't afraid of controversy. Debuting May 8, 2006, Glenn Beck, the television show, doubled CNN's viewers during the time period and became one of the network's most popular shows. But being the only conservative voice on the ultra-liberal cable channel proved to be too much for CNN and the show moved to the more politically centered Fox News Channel in 2009. Featuring witty responses to current events in a conservative light, Glenn Beck was a news entertainment show for "those who cannot stand to watch the news anymore." After lots of pressure from the left, and a dispute with FOX News chief, The Glenn Beck Program left FOX June 30, 2011.moreless

Like talkback radio, viewers will set the news agenda of the day by getting their point straight to air by email, SMS or conventional mail. Some of the issues raised are written on a whiteboard on set - the ROSwall (Responses of Sunrisers) - then Kochie and Mel chase the story and seek appropriate action on behalf of the audience. In this era of breaking news, Sunrise uses a constant news and weather ticker to report the latest headlines. In a first for commercial television in Australia, the ticker runs news headlines from across the world across the bottom of the screen for a constant three hours. Sunrise has a stable of regular guests unlike any other news program on television. All are experts in their field. The line-up includes Foreign Affairs Editor Dr Keith Suter, Medical Editor Dr John D'Arcy and Sunrise Vet Rachele Lowe. Sunrise's mission is to deliver a balanced breakfast.
