This series presented by Food Network follows Alton Brown of Good Eats fame as he and his crew travel the open roads of America in search of great food. Season one started on the shores of South Carolina, and followed the crew on their way to Los Angeles, steering clear of interstates when possible, Alton visits culinary landmarks along the way, some known, and some unknown, all while enlightening us with history of cuisine and culture along the way. Set to return this fall, Alton and company will travel the length of the Mighty Mississippi for season 2.

Nothing plucks the heart strings of the American spirit like an open road. Oh, I'm not talking about those rivers of concrete which lure us with stable speeds and zero surprises. I'm talking about the highways and byways that really stitch this crazy quilt of a country together. Why, on routes like this, anything can happen. Consider cuisine: interstates give you culinary conformity, but out here, flavors change with the contour of the land, and words like hospitality take on old meanings. Why, I bet down around that curve there is a cafe, diner, tea room, or truck stop where the waitresses still call ya hun, and the cooks actually cook! How do I know? I don't, but I've got a map, and a motorcycle, and a month to find out. I'm Alton Brown, and this is Feasting on Asphalt - Alton Brownmoreless

Steve the star was born after a chance encounter with his friend, a television producer who was filming in the Park for TV. In true Steve style they took a punt and the first documentary, "The Crocodile Hunter" was produced in 1992. The tremendous success of this one program quickly encouraged the making of more and so over the next 3 years, 10 one hour episodes were made and on television screens all over the world. Steve has now filmed 50 episodes of "Crocodile Hunter", 52 episodes of "Croc Files", and his next project will be an animated series. WHAT IS THE AIM OF THE CROCODILE HUNTER SERIES? Steve: "Our aim is to continue producing more wildlife programmes to entertain and enlighten. We'll take the audience to some of the wildest and remotest territories in the world. The time has come when all of us must be accountable. We don't own the planet Earth, we belong to it. And we must share it with our wildlife. It's obvious that every man, woman and child can contribute to the well being of our native wildlife and the planet through simple day-to-day stuff such as recycling, chemical and pollution awareness, and not wasting water. Terri and I eat, sleep and live for wildlife. Our love, passion, and devotion is to educate and share with the world our magnificent - often threatened or sometimes threatening - wildlife. Our job in this world is to bring misunderstood and feared animals (as well as the cute and cuddlies) right into your house, so that we can share and learn about the world's wildlife.

Terri: "Steve and I are very lucky to live and work with what we love best. Zoo life definitely has its ups and downs but there is nothing else we'd rather be doing. It's our goal and our passion to open everyone's hearts to love and care for wildlife for generations to come."

Jon and Kate Plus 8 revamped to Kate Plus 8 after the couple's highly publicized divorce left Jon completely uninvolved in the production of the show. From then on, the focus shifted to Kate Gosselin as a single mother. This was, of course, five years after the Gosselins burst onto the scene as one of the few American couples to have eight children over the span of two pregnancies. As the world now knows, the show was created in the first place because Jon and Kate Gosselin were a typical married couple that only planned on having about three kids at the most, but fate had a much bigger plan for them. After giving birth to twin girls named Madelyn and Cara in 2000, a set of sextuplets arrived in 2004 - Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel. This was originally a 2 hour special on Discovery Health Channel, but TLC offered Jon and Kate a deal for a weekly reality series, and now, even without Jon's regular participation, the show will continue to document the lives of Kate and their eight children as they grow and change in front of our eyes.moreless

Hosted by John Quinones, the show sets up everday scenarios to gauge the reaction of or test the character of witnesses and passerby's, which are caught using hidden cameras. Some of the situations set up by the show include: a woman who says she has been drinking asking strangers to blow into a breathalyzer to help start her car, an out-of-control soccer coach verbally abusing a child, and a man trying to lure a visibly drunken woman out of a restaurant and back to his house. Many people ignore the situation and mind their own business. Others survey the situation and step in when they feel things have gone too far. Some even step in immediately to make their voices heard. The main question is: when faced with an ethical dilemma, would you do the right thing?moreless

The show aims to delve inside the minds of both hardened criminals and the guards that try to keep them in line. Every day is tough for both groups, as conditions inside these prisons are despicable and almost as dangerous as the criminals the asylums hold. Even behind bars, these felons are still a threat to the guards and to each other; prisoner-on-prisoner violence and beatings are a very common occurrence. Unlike other prison shows which focus on prisoners of all types, Lockup focuses on only the most threatening criminals in America. Some famous prisons profiled by the show include San Quentin State Prison, Folsom Prison, Rikers Island Prison, and Riverbend Maximum Security Prison.
