Bondi Rescue follows the world famous Bondi Lifesavers through their days on the busiest and most famous beach in the world: Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia. These lifesavers are the blue topped lifesavers (paid).

This elite squad has to deal with up to 25,000 people at one time; sharks; missing children; injuries; fights; theft; drug addicts; drunks; and, most famously, saving swimmers; tourists; surfers; and fishers from the treacherous sea. They do all of this 7 days a week, 365 days a year, rain or shine. Some of the people they save have sustained severe injuries to the spine, neck, and more. In these cases every second makes a difference.

Two members of the squad are Rod Kerr, former world number 6 surfing champion, and Greg Bishop, current Australian surf swim champion.

This series is a special one as it shows how unique watermen save lives every single day of the year. It's not all about serious stuff, though; from time to time there are celebrities and parties down at the beach and you see the lifeguards having a lot of fun.moreless

In a day where everyone is focused on special effects and cashing in on following popular trends, it is nice to see a comedy that focuses on one thing - being funny. Randy and Jason Sklar bring their form of off-brand humor and satirical comedy to a show that they were destined to be a part of. Randy and Jason took the format made popular by Mystery Science Theater 3000 to make fun of something we love even more than bad science fiction movies, and that's gimmick sporting events. The guys sit back in the "cheap seats" and rag on everything from the rodeos to bowling, poker to putt-putt golf, and they do it in a way that keeps us laughing with their slick wit and obscure references. I mean, where else can you expect to hear about Hannibal Lecter at a Spelling Bee or Rick Fox at a Cheerleading Competition? The only thing holding this show back is its limited exposure. Being on ESPN Classic (which is usually only available by satellite or digital cable) certainly shrinks what would be a huge audience for such an enjoyable show like this one. However, Randy and Jason continue to be original and showcase their tremendous talents on such a great show that some would call vintage, Pam Minick.moreless

Since 1962, Steve Sabol has been an employee of NFL Films as a cameraman, an editor, a producer, and now its president. It made him think he knew everything NFL Films had ever shot. But co-worker Phil Tuckett's discovery of an unused film negative, led to the creation of this series. Two years of searching the film vaults has turned up thousands of feet of unseen film footage. Steve Sabol, the host of Lost Treasures of NFL Films, foolishly thought he could produce one 60-minute documentary covering the whole history of NFL Films. In fact, enough material was unearthed to cover five programs, all on the 1960s. And it just expanded from there. In addition to the five-part reflection of NFL Films' beginnings in the 1960s, Lost Treasures of NFL Films unearthed footage of minor-league football, TV football analysts, training camps, and much more. The result totaled 22 episodes spanning four decades, airing on ESPN Classic over a four-year span.moreless
