    Hart to Hart

    Hart to Hart

    Follow
    ABC (ended 1984)
Created by author Sidney Sheldon, the series started out under title Double Twist. Tom Mankiewicz was asked to revamp the script and it was soon renamed Hart to Hart. With Robert Wagner as self-made millionaire Jonathan Hart, Stefanie Powers as his journalist wife Jennifer and Lionel Stander as their trusty sidekick Max the "Hartbeat" began. Premiering on August 25, 1979, Hart was met with mixed reviews but by the end of the first season Jonathan and Jennifer Hart were household names. Guest appearances were made by everyone from Stella Stevens and Roddy McDowell to Jill St. John and Dorothy Lamour and even a cameo by Natalie Wood. The series would run for five seasons before leaving ABC in 1984. Hart to Hart is still airing in syndication in over 60 countries worldwide. In 1993 while touring together in A.R. Gurney's Love Letters, RJ, Stefanie and Lionel would return to television in the first of what would be eight 2-hour Hart movies. Jokingly dubbed "Hart to Hart: The New Generation", Jonathan and Jennifer still found themselves going from one adventure to the next. The first five would air as NBC Friday Night Mysteries. Sadly, Lionel Stander died shortly after completing the fifth movie and the sixth movie saw the Harts atending Max's funeral. The final three movies aired on The Family Channel. Interesting tidbit. The last movie aired on Aug 25 1996. Exactly 17 years (to the date) of the airing of the pilot movie. ======================== Company credits Production Companies * Columbia Pictures Television * Rona II * Spelling-Goldberg Productions Distributors * American Broadcasting Company (ABC) * Columbia TriStar Domestic Television (2001) * Independent Television (ITV) * Sony Pictures Television (2002-) ======================== Awards American Cinema Editors, USA 1980 -- Nominated -- Best Edited Episode from a Television Series -- Bob Bring [For episode "Max in Love".] Emmy Awards 1982 -- Nominated -- Outstanding Art Direction for a Series -- James J. The F.B.I. was Quinn Martin Productions's longest running series. It was unique as its stories were loosely supervised by at the time, current FBI director J. Edgar Hoover himself who watched over the presentation of proper bureau procedure.

After each week's episode, Efrem Zimbalist Jr. would step from behind the part of Inspector Erskine and directly address the audience, asking for help to catch real criminals that were on the run.

The show was sponsored by the Ford company which provided numerous vintage cars for chasing, crashing, and, occasionally, simple transportation.

After the Watergate scandal, the public's perception of the American government and its institutions was tarnished and changed forever. In 1974, The F.B.I. was cancelled after 9 years and 240 episodes.moreless

The Unusuals is described as a crime procedural dramedy set in modern-day New York City. Sometimes life takes an unexpected turn, as in the morning Casey Shraeger, a vice detective, is assigned to work undercover as a hooker by the Lincoln Tunnel and later finds herself a part of the homicide squad. As Casey gets to know her new co-workers, she discovers that each one has their own quirks, not to mention, their own secrets. Det. Walsh is a loyal and brilliant officer whose partner was just gunned down. Det. Delahoy has a brain tumor along with a death wish while his partner Det. Banks, who wears a bullet-proof vest to sleep, fears he won't make it past 42 years old. Det. Cole is very religious but seems to have a shady past, and his partner Det. Beaumont is a tough female cop amongst the male-dominated precinct. Det. Alvarez talks about himself in the third person and is often the object of his colleagues' pranks. Casey herself has her own secrets as she was born into one of the richest families in New York City and doesn't want anyone to know about it. The Unusuals, described by some as "a modern-day M*A*S*H", was created by Noah Hawley and is produced by Denis Leary, Peter Tolan, and Jim Serpico, executive producer of FX's Rescue Me. ABC has picked up The Unusuals for mid-season 2008/2009 with an initial season order of 10 episodes. Due to not-so-great ratings, ABC opted not to renew the series for a second season.moreless

In 1966, the gothic soap opera Dark Shadows premiered on ABC and ran for 5 years, making exactly 1,225 episodes. Today, it is known as one of the most popular cult classics of all time. In 1991, Dan Curtis remade the show as a weekly prime-time drama. NBC bought the series and aired it mid-season 1991. The series wasn't up to NBC's standards in ratings, so the network cancelled the show after only twelve one-hour episodes.

Dark Shadows: The Revival Series remade most of the beginning storylines and the episodes that transported Victoria Winters back to 1790 (in the original series, Victoria went back to 1795). The series starts with the resurrection of Barnabas Collins, who was released from his coffin by Willie Loomis, the bumbling caretaker on a quest for legendary family riches. Dr. Julia Hoffman attempts to cure his vampirism, and release him from the curse that Angelique Bouchard put on him two hundred years earlier. Later on, Victoria is transported to 1790 during a séance in which the Collins family was trying to contact Barnabas' sister, Sarah, who died in 1790. Trapped in the past, Victoria becomes the governess of Sarah and Daniel Collins, and the governess who was hired to tutor the children, Phyllis Wick, has taken Victoria's place in 1991. Victoria stays in 1790 for a while, and many people accuse her of being a witch for knowledge of the future and many other things. She is put on trial and Peter Bradford (her first friend in 1790 Collinsport) tries to save her from being hanged.moreless
