Episode Summary

CITA Eps. 21
Original Airdate: 12/23/2009Kelli Anderson: This multitalented multimedia artist lets us into her world, which at any given moment can include the Utopian NY Times, business cards, letterpress, websites, painting, sculpture. Just try to keep up.Artist to Artist: Prospect Park West, Amy Sohn?s latest novel, is the talk of Park Slope because of its satirical take on stroller-moms, the PS Food Co-op, and movie stars going ?normal? in Bklyn. The book also looks seriously at the isolation young mothers often experience. She and her friend, composer/playwright/performance artist Cynthia Hopkins, discuss the pain and rewards of the creative process. Misnomer(S): One sister plays the violin, the other one raps. Of course that combo makes perfect sense, right? It does when you meet Knewdles and Sos, Korean-American siblings from Bed-Stuy but born and bred in Buffalo. Mud/Bone Collective: Creating theater for the underserved by making theater about the underserved. That?s Mud/Bone?s mission, and we join them in the midst of turning the dramatic stories of Brooklyn immigrants into their next production.
