The Florida State Boxing Commission's 13 day investigation of potential foul play regarding the main event ended on October 23, 2008.
Due to EliteXC and its parent company ProElite folding this was the final broadcast of CBS EliteXC Saturday Night Fights.
The Florida State Athletic Commission will be conducting an investigation regarding the possibility of the outcome of Kimbo Slice vs. Seth Petruzelli fight being "fixed".
On ESPN's Pardon The Interruption Michael Wilbon claimed that the Kimbo Slice/Seth Petruzelli fight was fixed saying, "That was a more phantom punch than Ali had to knock out Liston in that fight in 1965."
Seth Petruzelli has stated that he was told by EliteXC executives to not "take Kimbo down". Kimbo Slice's weakness is his ground game, and obviously the company could get in a lot of trouble with the Florida State Athletic Commission if it turns out they fixed fights.
EliteXC President Jared Shaw could be seen getting angry after Kimbo Slice was defeated by Seth Petruzelli, realizing that this could take a heavy financial cost on the promotion.
This was Kimbo Slice's first ever professional loss. His record is now 3-1.

The originally scheduled Ken Shamrock vs. Kimbo Slice main event fight was changed to Kimbo Slice vs. Seth Petruzelli after Shamrock was not medically cleared to compete.
