Based on a novel of the same name by Jane Yolen. Jakkin was a young boy, doomed to a life of training working in the dragon stalls. Blood Brother, a dragon which Jakkin has established a bond to, frenzies and dies in the arena. In grief, Jakkin runs away and finds a wild dragon nest with a hatchling whose mother was killed by draks, and raises the hatchling himself. They establish a telepathic bond, and Jakkin names him "Heart's Blood". Jakkin plans to use Heart's Blood to win in the arenas, and buy his own freedom so the two can do whatever they want in life.moreless
