Celebrity Treasure Island

Show Summary

Fourteen New Zealand celebrities are marooned on an uninhabited Pacific island, left to catch and cook their own food, and to compete against each other for prizes and the chance of winning up to $75,000 for the charity of their choice. Josh Kronfeld and Lana Coc-Kroft will lead their respective teams. Lana's team is made up of entertainer Joe Cotton, TV presenters Jayne Kiely and Charlotte Dawson, model Aja Rock, Penthouse Pet Hayley Marie Byrnes, and four times World Women's Surf Champion Wendy Botha Todd. They have put away the lipstick and packed up their cell phones as they prepare to rough it out on an uninhabited island. Josh Kronfeld's team consists off broadcaster Simon Barnett, professional surfer Maz Quinn, rugby league legends Ian Roberts and Brent Todd, champion youth triathlete Terenzo Bozzone, and rugby star Troy Flavell. They are determined to do whatever it takes to win against the girls team and take out the prize money. Each of the eight one-hour episodes begins with a terminator challenge where one person from each team is nominated to compete in a three-round challenge. The winner of the terminator decides which person leaves the island from each team at the end of that episode. By giving the power to one person at the beginning of the hour, a fascinating story arc of lobbying and powerplays develops as just one person wields the power for that episode (and the others must be careful to keep on his or her right side). This year, the terminators chose to eliminate people for all sorts of reasons - because they thought an opposition team member looked like a winner and so needed to be got rid of, because they thought they were manipulating a team-mate and could not be trusted or just because they didn't like them!moreless
