Season 1 Episode 6

Monolith of Evil

  • Trivia

    • Hawkman's wings are briefly missing when the Hall of Doom escapes with the monolith, sealing in the SuperFriends.

    • Just after Hawkman rescues Black Vulcan and Superman from the giant creature, Superman's "S" insignia is reversed.

    • The Hall of Doom, Superman, and Green Lantern drill to the near center of the Earth through the bottom of the lake floor of the swamp. Wouldn't all the water have drained out from all the tunnels that were created?

    • Just before Hawkman, Black Vulcan, and Superman start turning to rock statues, the latter's cape is briefly colored blue, and the former's hawk insignia is missing from his round chestplate.

    • When dividing into two groups, one to confront the entire Legion of Doom in New York, and the other to search for Superman, Black Vulcan, and Hawkman, wouldn't it make more sense to send a powerhouse hero like Green Lantern on the first mission? That's not what they thought.

    • Why did the Legion have to trick Superman into defeating the lava monster? Bizarro has the same powers as he does, so he should have been able to use his own freeze breath.

    • A closeup of Black Vulcan seems to have his costume with a neckline, but it really has none.

    • A closeup of Wonder Woman at the Hall of Justice has her bracelets missing.

    • When the Trouble Alert reports the havoc the Legion of Doom is causing with the monolith, Superman can be seen with the other SuperFriends even though he's trapped deep below the Earth's crust.

    • When Batman uses the BatJet's ice beam to freeze the water creature the Legion created, the next shot seems to have it already changed to ice before it was hit by the beam.

    • When Superman tries to smash the monolith, it pulses with power and throws him off, as Grundy explains, "Evil power repel all goodness!" But later in the episode, it's revealed that the monolith is not actually evil, so why did it really zap Superman off?
