Our homeowners are across a field from each other in Paddock Wood in Kent. Leslie & Simon have been married for 20 years. Leslie makes boxes and Simon is an illustrator. They have a very unique kitchen they would like to see transformed. The kitchen is a circular kitchen that once was a barn silo. Angela & Dave met on a hockey pitch at Oxford and both work in finance. They would like their sitting room done so it's more inviting. Graham Wynne assists Angela & Dave with Leslie & Simon's unique kitchen. They use a yellow paint for the walls, and repaint the cabinets a dark blue. To cover the brown tile backsplash, they use strips of zinc sheets. They try to paint the countertops, but that turns out to be an unsuccessful venture. The paint won't stick to the surface. At the last minute, Andy shows up with some formica to save the countertops. Laurence assists Leslie & Simon with Angela & Dave's sitting room. They paint the walls an interesting shade of green. In order to accentuate the molding on the walls, they do not paint inside the molding. Simon is quite a decent artist, so they use some of his sketches on the walls. To transform the existing couches, they create sofa boxes to put the sofas in. They also get lucky and find a nice rug in Angela & Dave's shed.moreless

This episode takes us to Gosforth in Newcastle. Nick & Emma Holly would like their attic redone. They have been married for 3 years and have a daughter named Jessica. Emma says she generally tries to stay away from the attic because it is all Nick's mess. They want to see something a bit more modern. Nick's Brother Kevin & his girlfriend Suzi Walker have been together for 9 years. They live just around the corner. The great challenge for their room will be where to put Suzi's 50 pair of shoes. Laurence helps Kevin & Suzi with Nick & Emma's attic. The theme of this room will be that of a yacht. Laurence wants the attic to actually look like a boat. They paint the walls white, Handy Andy asists in building a couple new walls that curve around, and they used a stained glass effect in one of the new walls. Liz Wagstaff is the designer for Kevin & Suzi's bedroom. She is headed for a chinoiserie look. They stripe the walls with a blue and yellow color. They use swimming pool tiles in the same colors around the fireplace. Andy accidentally miscalculates and makes a design for over the fireplace a bit small. However, they make due, and just cut the design in half.moreless

Ann & Ronald Potts have worked together at Unilever for 30 years. They have only one child, Traci, and they will be swapping rooms with her and their son-in-law, Toni. Ann & Ronald would like their master bedroom done over. One major thing they would like to see change is the huge staircase that leads to nowhere that sits in the middle of the room. Traci & Toni have only been in their current residence for 6 weeks, but feel the attic space needs some bit of organization and general brightening up. Liz Wagstaff helps Ann & Ron with their daughter's attic. They are going to attempt a bit of a beach house look. They paint over the wood paneled walls with a faint green color -- a color Traci says is off-limits. They also make a rug with nautical flag symbols over it to add to the beach look. Graham Wynne assist Traci & Toni with their parents bedroom. First thing to go is that staircase. However, Handy Andy will make great use of the wood, and get some shelves going. They lighten the dark walls and they paint the floors to look like actual wood floor planks. The effect is a french farmhouse bedroom.moreless

This episode is in Peckham of South London. Archie & Mint Glades moved into #86 just over a year ago with their 2 young children Henry and Eliza. They would like their children's room to be madeover, but nothing too crazy or over-stimulating. The Scottish couple of James & Victoria Frasier of #98, met Archie & Mint at university. They have lived near each other for 10 years. They are going to have their breakfast room redone so they can use it for more entertaining. Linda Barker shares her ideas for the Glades' children's room with the Frasier's. She reveals the colors she is going to use, and the homeowners get a bit concerned. But they trust her enough to see the finished product. They start with a lime green on the walls then tape it off to create a gingham effect with some different shades of yellow and green. They make hand painted stamps of vegetables to place on curtains. They carry the vegetable theme over to the ceiling. They use plastic vegetables and hang them around the light fixture. Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen helps the Glades redesign their friends' breakfast room. He enlists Andy to add to the skirting around the room. Andy adds another layer and molding to the skirting (or baseboards). They also use a pre-stick molding to the walls to create a more victorian effect. Laurence and Mint work on some of the cabinetry by painting it blue, rubbing wax on top of that, then painting green over it. The wax allows the blue to come through the green to give it a more worn look. They also use stencils on the wall, but use a cross-hatch style of filling them in. Laurence doesn't seem too happy with his results but is confident the homeowners will like it.moreless

This episode brings us to Belsize Park in London. Buster and his mom Carol-Anne Turner have lived at #42 for 6 years. Buster's room will be madeover by his Aunt & Uncle. His room currently has a lot of color going on and a very bad need for some storage assistance. Brad & Emily Bradbury have lived in #46 for 6 years also. Brad is a musician and Emily runs a fashion business. Linda Barker assists Buster & Carol-Anne with Brad & Emily's space. They create a layered fresco effect on the walls and then accentuate it with tracing out some old style calligraphy. They also use a part of tree to create a new lighting fixture. Andy creates some screens to cover the television and speakers. Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen helps Brad & Emily, with the disarray that is Buster's room. They are going to use a bit of the existing colors on the walls by taping off squares and painting a lighter shade around them. The effect ends up with random squares of color around the room. In a way to save space, they put the bed on a raised platform, allowing for storage underneath. They also create some interesting celebrity hangers for Buster's clothes.moreless
