From Drayton Court, there is Mark and fiance Haley who would like their master bedroom to have a touch more style. Anna Ryder Richardson is in Delores' master bedroom. The team suggests a medieval theme. Anna reveals a very bright red color. On two walls, they will be putting wood panels on the bottom half of the wall, then a brick effect on the top. They go to stain the woodwork and the stain looks a bit more orange than they wanted. Andy opens the fireplace and will put a huge mantelpiece on it out of railway sleepers. They will redo a pub bench seat for extra seating in the room. Anna spends 506.48. Linda Barker is in the Mark and Haley's master bedroom. The team suggests a big Hollywood 30s glamor. The pool room was built 6 years ago and has not been decorated. Karen and Steve Ashley are in #25. They have lived there for one year. They want their dining room changed. Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen is in the Pool Room. He is going for a Cuban style. The paint is a dark blueish green. They will build new chandeliers and mural panels in a Cuban style. They make arches with mosaic tiles to go over the murals. Carol makes a bunch of curtains. The murals mirror the windows on the other side of the pool. They jump in the pool after they are done. Laurence spends 479.19. Graham Wynne is in the dining room. They strip the floor, and will stain it a rich dark color. They use an antique cream color for paneling on lower half of wall, and a darkisk red terra cotta on the top half. They have some problems with the fireplace. They may have to build an MDF fireplace instead of using the marble one. They make a console table out of planters and plinths. The top is MDF and Graham uses a dot effect to create a granite effect.     Home to ballroom dancing. Julia and her Husband Allen, live in #249. It's the house that Julia was born and raised in. Julia is a tax-inspector who would like her bedroom changed. Her brother Kenny lives next door. #1 Burch Way. His mate Simon is going to help him. They work together in the local sports center. He would like his living room redone. Graham Wynne is in the living room. Graham asked the team beforehand how mad they want to go on a scale of 1 to 10. They said 11, so he gives them black walls. He wants to go for an old-school Hollywood look. They take apart the sofa suite to reupholster in a silver satin. Andy is creating a 50's bar. They also paint the floor black. Graham decides to put silver grid on the black floor. They put a black and white picture of Kenny impersonating Charlie Chaplin. The picture is very large and in a mosaic pattern. Graham spends 526.75 and does not seem to like the room very much. Linda Barker is in the bedroom. They take up the carpet and peel off wallpaper borders. She brings out a new wallpaper that is a bright rich yellow. Andy is going to make a four poster bed with stair posts. Linda has Andy take off mirrors from the wardrobe doors. She tries to put bamboo on it, but they fall off. She goes and gets a bamboo mat at the store to put on it. They also have Andy make a chair that goes in front of the window. Their sitting room was originally a kitchen and a walkway. Anna Ryder Richardson helps in Dizzy and Stefan's sitting room. The paint Anna has chosen is aqua blue, sky blue, and raspberry. Anna wants Andy to make some shelves from old beach wood and glass. Anna's team makes some wavy furniture with flexi mdf. Dave makes an abtract piece of art for the room. Everything in the room is very large in scale. Andy makes a coffee table out of wood and 2 huge decorative balls. Andy says he's never one to like Anna's designs, but he likes this one. Oliver Heath is in Dave and Claire's sitting room paint is a pale blueish purple. (Dave is color blind). They paint stripes with different shades of blue, but not in stripes, kind of jagged waves. Dye some fabric to make sofa covers (yellow). Puts wires on the top of the floor in a similar design to the jagged waves. 7pm on Day 2, and the teams are not yet finished. Andy says they are usually well finished by now. Oliver makes screens out of some plastic material and paints the floorboards a cream color. Dizzy reupholsters in her bra and shorts.moreless

    Essex Wayne & Kaye would like their blank and stark bedroom redone. Gary & Rowen want something more stylish for their living room. They do not want their couch covers touched. Graham Wynne starts in the living room by taking up the carpet, stripping the floor, and taking off the fireplace. The paint he has chosen is a yellowy taupe, bright yellow, and some other shades of yellow. The team doesn't seem to like the colors. Graham suggests dying the covers. The floor tends to be more of a nightmare, because they can't get the tile glue up. They can't figure out the paint colors either. They have to buy a throw for the sofas because they can't dye them. They make a very abstract art project out of mdf frame and rope/string. Graham Wynne tries to dye 2 arm chairs but it doesn't turn out at all. They say it's an heirloom, their best chair. He says he will have them reupholster because of the mistake. Takes off the orange covers on the other sofas, and find a perfect cover they like. Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen is in the bedroom. Gary builds a new strong table. Laurence's paint choice is an earthy orange. The team likes the paint. Laurence brings out artex for a touch of texture on the walls. Rowen doesn't like artex at all. "It's really foul". She then suggests instead of the artex, to put a varnish in place of it to just put a shiny feel, which would provide a textured bit to it. Laurence absolutely loves the idea. They also make a mosaic mirror out of sticky mosaics. Rowen makes 3 art pieces. The team also creates new shutters.moreless

    South London Joshua & friend Natalie live on the third floor of Davenport House, which was originally opened in the 30s by the Queen Mother. Josh has lived there for 4 years and would like to see a difference in his living room. Laura & business partner Mimi have lived in their house for 3 years. It's also a center for artistic exhibitions and live performance art. Laura runs the house with friend Mimi and would like her bedroom to be more beautiful and more functional. Anna Ryder Richardson assists in the living room. First thing is to scrape up flooring. They paint the whole room white, then Anna has an idea of cutting MDF squares and putting those on the walls and painting them gloss white paint. The team says NO. Then suggests leather on the walls. Josh also stated not covering his sofa, but anna is going to, and will make sure it can be taken off. Anna did end up building a white leatherette padded wall. They paint the floor white, however the next morning the white floor is chipped up. The team argues with her about how much money she's spent. They get Carol to try to give them more money. Anna gets quite tired of her teams arguing with her and wants no more of it, so carol gives her the extra money because she feels sorry for Anna. Anna has another argument with her team and they get very angry and start screaming at Anna. Anna starts to scream back and Laura demands the camera be shut off. Anna spent 520.92 and Josh really likes the room after all. Laura McCree is in the bedroom. She has chosen grayish purple, off-white, and a light pink paint colors. Josh is very adamant about what he likes and doesn't like. Laura makes a mold of Josh's face. Andy makes chunky curvy shelves for the very top of the room. They are going to pad the whole room with foam and fabric. Laura spent 507.90. Laura and Mimi like the color, not what Laura wanted at all. She wanted more storage and properly made cupboards so it doesn't fulfill her functional needs.moreless

    A very unique episode for Changing Rooms. Instead of homeowner's being next door neighbors, this episode has two brothers from two different continents. Bryce and British Joanne met while she was on holiday in New Zealand. They have lived in their 1920's cottage for two years. They would like their bedroom redone, but they do not want the furniture touched. It was a wedding present In New Zealand, Simon and wife Judith have lived in their home for 2 1/2 years. Their living room is in desperate need of attention as they don't like anything about it. Linda Barker & Handy Andy (still in England), are going for a medieval feel. Linda breaks out a mauve paint color that is a bit bright. Andy builds a new big fireplace covered in huge stone blocks that are just an effect, made with mdf. Andy thinks the paint color is Barbie pink. Linda was going for a burgundy, so she ends up going to the store to get a better shade. Linda has colored gels that she will use to make a fake stained glass window. They do a stippling effect on the stone work mdf to achieve stone look they want. They place swords above the fireplace to top off the scottish medieval castle look. Donald Grant Sunderland & Handy Andy Dye (still in new Zealand) start by using schist rock, which is a local rock, on a lot of the designs. The paint revealed is a pale dusky blue, orange sorbet, very light orange, taupe, and thyme (slight grayish purple-y pink). Bottom half of the wall is the blue, top is taupe, and a touch of a slight thyme color in a stripe between. Joanne does a lot of sewing for the room specifically checkered pattern curtains. They have to fly back to their countries to take a look at their rooms. Both hosts chat at the end of day one via web cams.moreless

    Machynlleth in Wales This episode is at the Center for Alternative Technology or CAT. It was set up 25 years ago to educate people on how to make nature and technology work together. Ten staff members live here in self-built houses. Andy and good friend Blanche would like to see Andy's living room/kitchen area brightened up. John and partner Phiona (Phi) would also like to see their sitting room/kitchen area redone. Anna Ryder Richardson is in Andy's living room with John and Phi. Phi had a friend that was to come over to help her look after their baby while filming, but that friend took ill and is in the hospital. Phi also goes to the hospital to look after her and it ends up being just John and Anna. They make a screen out of natural cotton and futon filling - which is made of recycled jumpers). Anna says it will be a "squiggy" wall. Handy Andy starts putting galvanized steel in the kitchen. Anna gets together some of the other members of the CAT community to help get back in order. The paint is yellow and the carpet is taken up. Oliver Heath is in John and Phi's sitting room. They use a local welsh ash wood for the flooring. Blanche will be doing all the install and doesn't need Handy Andy's help. Generally a floor like this would cost 400, but since it is leftover bits from another project at CAT, Oliver gets it for 150. Hazel hurdles are being made by some local people to seperate the kitchen area. They paint on the wall is a bit yellow with a reddish stripe in the middle of the wall.     Jackie and Nick are enthusiastic musicians and party-throwers. Their dining room has been turned into a bar but they would like to see it look more bar-like. Sally and Mark have never done anything to their living room in the 4 years they've lived in the house. They love their fireplace and would like nothing done to it. Handy Andy Kane will be the designer this week in the dining room. He reveals the colors of light and dark shades of green. Laurence starts working on the things Andy needs -- a seating unit to go around the window. Laurence also makes shutters and nails them to the work bench. Andy gives Laurence a shirt says (Bodge-it Bowen). Linda Barker, this weeks host, informs andy he has spent 578.96 on this room. Carol Smillie is the decorator du jour in the living room. The colors she has chosen are sky blue and aqua. They are going to make a tongue and groove cover for the top of the fireplace. They are going to cover all the sofas in a very nice fabric. They also lay down a tongue and groove floor. Carol goes and asks Andy to help with the floor, and he says no. She has a cold and needs assistance. Andy ends up showing up later. This David works in Frontierland and James also works in complaints. Both David and James are from Scotland. They would also like their living room redone as they think it is too dark. They would like it to look more alive. Both teams live a 20 minute train ride from the park. Graham Wynne will be assisting in David and James' living room. He reveals the color of aqua. The team isn't sure whether David and James will like it. They combine 2 existing sofas to make one L-shape sofa. They lay down a wooden laminate floor around the perimeter and a rug will be in the center. Linda Barker is in David and Katie's sitting room. They start by scraping up whatever is on the floor. They will have one wall painted aubergine. David and James don't like the aubergine color, they do like the other color of a light blue. Linda replaces the color with a lighter shade, lilac. Andy builds a curvy shelf. James paints a few cubes. David sews. They lay a white vinyl tile floor. David and James had originally wanted an English garden but then saw a note from david and Katie that said no flowers so they paniced.moreless

Andy discovers maggots in the fireplace when he pulls it out. She finally reveals her different shades of lilac for the room. Laura's team doesn't want the big unit Laura has planned, they feel it will look like an alter. Oliver Heath is in Dawn's Kitchen and whips out his paint colors quickly light blue-green, darker shade of blue-green, and earthy red. Oliver's team starts arguing with him off the bat and doesn't want him to paint the cabinet doors. They want them cut out. Oliver has a plant shadow traced on the wall and then painted red around it for art. Oliver's team argue with him about what to do with the floor. Oliver wants to sand down the concrete and his team wants something new put down on it. They end up putting down vinyl floor tiles.moreless
