  • Agnes Moorehead versus James Earl Jones.

Odd. This episode featured two of the greatest acting legends of the twentieth century, and was nominated for a Writers Guild of America award, but TV.com does not give us those details. Black folk singer Leon Bibb plays a gifted young math student, and Moorehead and Jones play two brilliant professors who clash over his future. Moorehead is a well -intentioned, if rather patronizing white liberal who wants the boy to get a scholarship, Jones, a black radical with other ideas. This show episode apparently dealt with some the deepest issues of racial relations at the time..and in ours.moreless
