    • Copies of this second pilot reside in the UCLA Film & Television Archive. The UCLA summary indicates that "Henry Jones appears in the wraparounds to introduce the program and to show scenes from upcoming episodes". This contrasts with the first pilot which had Fred Astaire doing the wraparound segments. The UCLA summary further suggests that THE BEST YEARS was "possibly unaired".

    • Channing College is again the setting for this episode airing as part of the Alcoa Premiere anthology series. The same actors reprise the roles Professor Howe, Dean Baker, Mr. Blackburn, and Miss Marks, all retained from the 1962 pilot. Six months later, the Channing series would join the ABC fall lineup.
