  • Well-written and great acting.

This episode had three distinct stories in play, cartel members seeking fake US passports in Bolivia, a mole-hunt inside the CIA building, and rescuing an injured Martinez. Yet, all of the stories were well-developed and carried through from conflict to conclusion without feeling rushed, confused, or unresolved. Plus there was a good lead-in to another subplot regarding the Deputy Director and an ominous black sedan (which I really hope we get to see played out in the remaining episodes). The episode felt just slightly out of place as far as the subplot of the developing relationship between the Deputy Director and Martinez, but it is apparent that several episodes have been shown out of order, so I am sure this is one of them. The team is becoming more cohesive and drawing on each man's unique skills or strengths as needed. Martinez demonstrates again that he is not just a newbie and can hold his own when he goes undercover briefly with volatile cartel members. He is smooth and serious as he sticks to his "uncle from America" cover story, although his relief is palpable when the men finally leave with the traceable passports.

I love how protective and concerned the ODS became as they raced through the Bolivian countryside for help after Martinez was injured. The situation was serious, taking several hours to reach a remote medical clinic in the middle of the night, and the writers and actors made it believable. And the follow-up back home was appropriate, rather than just shaking off the injury with a sudden passage of time.

One more thing to love, Tim Blake Nelson singing Christmas in Prison. Perfect!moreless
