Charles in Charge is the perfect example of the 80's sitcom. A straight man with a goofy friend, and a family with two feuding sisters and smart-mouth brother. You just do not get classics like this anymore on television.
I won't go as far as to say that this show is better than a Curb Your Enthusiasm, Cheers or highly-regarded programs like that, but this certainly was a fun half hour. You get some real genuine laughs, and a simple story with a good ending.
Although most people only know this show because of the episode of Family Guy where Peter sings the theme, this was definitely one of TV's most underrated offerings.
