Burgeoning British broadcast journalist Charlie Brooker ("Screenwipe" & "Nathan Barley") takes his pop-culture critique into a BBC Technology season spin-off which attempts to prove that video games can be just as engaging as television and just as dumb.
Grumpy misanthropic presenter Charlie Brooker is as engaging as ever in his pokey living room and now actually seems to have found a medium he generally cares about with the assistance of a surprisingly compliant production team and celebrity guest appearances. The one-hour special tackles the history of games on television, media controversies, and a catalogue of games catagories as well as reviews of "Wolfenstein", "50 Cent: Blood on the Sand" and "The Beatles: Rock Band" with assistance from Dara O'Briain, Graham Lineham, Rab and Ryan and Rebecca Mayes. The programme makers have put together a cheap and cheerful little package which proves a worthy addition to the ever growing franchise thanks to the enthusiasm of its insider talent now being put to great effect in dissecting a subject dear to heart. "Video games are for losers like me, apparently."moreless
