  • Valentine's Day Review #2

A special based on Valentine's Day and love themes material from the comic strip. Charlie Brown is jealous of Snoopy's many valentines cards; Charlie Brown tries to impress the little red-haired girl with a sharp pencil and gets caught in the pencil sharpener and more. I thought that this was a cute and very funny Valentine's Day special of Charlie Brown. Charlie Brown trying to call the red-head girl but instead calls Marcie then Peppermint Patty was just hilarious. Everything Charlie did in this special just to try to impress the red-head girl was funny as well. Snoopy and Woodstock were funny and cute in this special. My only complaint in this Valentine's Day special just like the ORIGINAL Valentine's Day special was that Charlie Brown didn't have a happy ending. Remember how Charlie never gotten a Valentine card in the ORIGINAL Valentine's Day special... well in this one, Charlie never got to dance with the red-head girl. Why can't Charlie get a happy ending but oh well.... at least, Charlie gets happy endings in some of the other specials anyways. Overall, an excellent Valentine's Day special of Charlie Brown. 9.5/10moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • This was the first Peanuts special to be made after the rights went from CBS to ABC, excluding 2001's "The Making of A Charlie Brown Christmas".

    • Perhaps wanting to stay as close to the comic strip as possible after Schulz's death, some characters are animated just as they are drawn. Lucy has a white border around her hair, Snoopy has a white border around his ears, and Franklin has lines on his face.

    • The little red-haired girl looks different in this one than she did in "It's Your First Kiss, Charlie Brown" and "Happy New Year, Charlie Brown".

  • QUOTES (2)

    • (Charlie Brown has just called Marcie by mistake)
Marcie: (On the phone) Is that you, Charles? It sounds like your voice. If it is, how have you been? If it isn't, what do I care how you've been?

    • Linus: You've got to complement her, Charlie Brown.
Charlie Brown: YOU LOOK REALLY CUTE TODAY!!!
      Bang in the backround
Linus: That's great Charlie Brown. She fell out of her chair.

  • NOTES (1)

    • Listen Closely: During the Valentine's Day dance, you can hear a version of "Linus and Lucy" from the "A Charlie Brown Christmas 40-year Anniversary" CD.
