Episode Summary

Linus is obsessed with his blanket; he can't live without it. This becomes a problem when he learns that his blanket-hating grandma is coming for a visit, and she insists that he give it up by the time she leaves, or she'll get rid of it for him! Linus asks for some help to break the habit, but his willpower isn't strong enough. It doesn't help when Lucy makes his blanket into a kite, and it flies away.

This special was released straight to DVD March 29, 2011. However, it was first broadcast on TV on November 24, 2011, Thanksgiving Day. This was a unique broadcast situation. ABC showed A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, paired with the "Mayflower Voyagers" episode of This Is America, Charlie Brown, from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. FOX showed Happiness Is a Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown from 8:30 pm. to 9:30 p.m. Not only did these two specials air almost simultaneously, this marked the first time a Peanuts special ever aired on FOX.
