another trip into the weird and creepy for 01 boxer. which is a good thing. although 01's character can be a real pain sometimes because he's just too over the top, he is the source of a lot of the show's interesting moments.



in this episode, it turns out that pappa boxer is staying alive through transfusions from his son. but the transfusion doesn't appear to be of blood. it's a strange white-ish substance that, once extracted, leaves 01 exhausted and debilitated while big daddy just gets rejuvinated and younger. so boxer sr. needs boxer jr. for more reasons than just that he can travel between the universes.



in exchange for his sacrifice, 01 gets a box of his mother's things from his father. filipowich delivers an interesting performance as he explores what boxer feels for his dead mum. sulking, he slathers on her old lipstick and roughly brushes his hair with her silver brush.



all this adds to the question: what makes boxer tick? we really don't know. because one minute, he's crying over his dead mother. the next, he's snorting cocaine off a pretty bartender's foot. then he's getting shot and taking off to the gammaverse...
