      ADD TRIVIA
      • Jaclyn Smith was born on this day 10-26-1947. She was born Ellen Jaclyn Smith in Houston, Texas.

      • Notice the close ups of Kelly and Kris when they are riding that their hair is just moving backwards and not up and down as if they were riding horses. Clearly they were just on stationary saddles.

    • QUOTES (4)

      ADD QUOTES
      • Sabrina: (Coming in from her ride with Doug) Well, (Looking at Kelly and Kris on the couch) Don't just say something, sit there.

      • (Walking past Lon and Lorraine by the tree) Kelly: That man needs a distemper shot!

      • (Kelly and Kris walk up on Lon Molton and Lorraine Fielding kissing by a tree) Kelly: We didn't realize this was lovers lane. Lon: You have a way of showing up where you don't belong. Kelly: Well, that's why I'm with Kris. She's giving me belonging lessons.

      • (Entering their cabin) Kelly: Well, What do you think of Utopia? Kris: Are you kidding. I'm so disappointed. I thought that sex would be running rampant. Kelly: Oh, it's running. You just haven't caught up to it yet.

    • NOTES (4)

      ADD NOTES
      • Dante D'Andre makes his 2nd appearance in the series. He previously appeared in Season 1 episode The Mexican Connection.

      • "Utopia West" in this episode tweaks the Human Potential Movement of the 1970s, which was based on the idea that through the development of human potential, they have unlimited or infinite potential, in which the goal would then becomes to achieve this infinite potential.

      • Carole Cooke makes her 2nd guest appearance in this episode playing Hildy. She previous made an appearance in Season 1 episode called Seance.

      • When the series first began, Sabrina was the only Angel with a regular boyfriend, her ex-husband police detective Bill Duncan played by Michael Bell. That angle was dropped in the second season, enabling the series to do episodes in which the normally unflappable leader of the Angels falls head over heels for a man who may be the leading suspect in a murder investigation. Kate Jackson's strong performance clearly shows why she earned three Emmy nominations for her work in the series.

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      ADD ALLUSIONS
      • Kelly: (Reading a headline from a newspaper clipping) Still No Clue in $2M Skyjack, B. J. Smith Disappears Over Idaho With Money. Kris: Hey, I remember that, It was a couple of years ago. This guy extorted money from an airline and then he escaped by parachute. They never did find him or the money. This is an allusion to the real-life crime committed by "D. B. Cooper" in 1971. The writers of this episode changed the name and moved the story one state to the east, but the character of Sabrina's beau was doubtlessly inspired by this unsolved hijacking that took place in the state of Washington. In 1980, a small amount of the ransom money was discovered in the southern part of the state, but to this day, the legendary hijacker has never been caught.
