Darryl Morris (recurring)
Leo Wyatt (Season 2+)
Paige Matthews (Season 4+)
Tall Man / Little John
TRIVIA: Leo does not orb in this episode.
When Drake transforms the Charmed Ones into Robin Hood outfits, you can clearly see a green tint around them indicating the use of green screen. Green light also bounces off Piper onto Paige.
The fletchings (feathers) on an arrow come in threes and to increase accuracy when firing a right-handed bow as "Robin Hood" does, two fletchings should point angled to the right, upwards and downwards respectively, and the third directly to the left. At several points in the episode, Robin draws his bow with the fletchings oriented incorrectly (one fletching to the right, two to the left). As an expert archer, Robin Hood should know better.
When Ms. Donovan is doing astral projection at magic school in front of Paige you can see that her real body is awake before her astral one is gone. Her real body only could be awake after the astral one is gone.
When Drake and Paige are looking at the Book of Shadows the Mercury Demons' page suddenly changes. First we can see that they have found the page but a second later we see a different shot where the page in the book is not about the Mercury Demons anymore.
At the beginning, when Billy Zane (Drake) appears and later when he is with Paige looking at the Book of Shadows, he has a slicked back hairstyle with one curl shaped like a C over his right eye. During the course of both scenes it appears, disappears and changes shape in different shots.
TRIVIA: As of this episode, all four of the sisters have been on a motorcycle. Prue in the season 3 episode "Just Harried", Paige in the season 4 episode "Size Matters", Piper in the season 6 episode "Valhalley of the Dolls (2)", and Phoebe in this episode.
TRIVIA: This was the first episode to show Rose McGowan's new haircut - she cut her bangs.
TRIVIA: Both Drake and Ms. Donovan quote from the classic William Shakespeare play "Macbeth", and Drake later quotes from Edmond Rostand's "Cyrano de Bergerac".
When Ms. Donovan astral projects to the Manor from the demons' hide-out, her cloak is over her right side. Then when the camera switches, it's now over both sides.
How did the cops get to the bank so quick? They were outside in less than a minute - unless someone called when they first went into the bank?
TRIVIA: This episode marks the first appearance of Billy Zane as Drake. Zane is best known for his roles in the movies "Dead Calm", "The Phantom", "Titanic" and "Tombstone".
When Drake snapped his fingers to set the teacher free she just slipped her hands out.
When Piper was changing baby Chris and talking to Phoebe, she walked across the kitchen, fully changed his diaper and was sitting at the kitchen table in less than ten seconds.
What sane officer would leave an armored truck, with loads of cash open with multiple people standing right by the truck? They should have had extra protection, especially when dropping off money to a bank, or other financial establishment.
When Piper put baby Chris down on the changing table to change his diaper, he's wearing a hat but when she picks him up, he doesn't have one on. However when she turns around, baby Chris is wearing a hat again.
Why is Phoebe surprised that Drake knows she was married to a demon? She married the source of all evil and was queen of the underworld, it doesn't get more famous than that down there.
Did anyone else notice how HUGE the chains were on the teacher's wrists? She had to hold onto them to keep her hands IN. She could've easily pulled her hands out.
Darryl (on phone with Phoebe): Your friend Brody came to visit me last night...didn't you say he died?
Leo: Since when do you staple decorations? Don't you want everything to be perfect?
Piper: What's the point? It's all gonna be torn down tomorrow anyway.
Leo: Well, the point is – is not worry about what's gonna happen tomorrow. The point is to stop and enjoy Valentine's Day.
Piper: Well, some people can't forget. Some people would rather see the rips and the flaws, so that they're not totally devastated when they're all torn down suddenly tomorrow.
Leo: We're not talking about decorations anymore, are we?
Norman: What exactly do you want from me? Did my ex-wife send you?
Drake (as Robin Hood, pointing his arrow at him): I'm here to rob you.
Norman (gives him a funny look): Of course.
Ms. Donovan: You ride in here, nearly kill us, and now you want to teach here?
Drake: Well, if I wanted to teach parallel parking, you might have a point, but I'm here for the literature post.
Drake: You know, there's only one man I know that can solve all of these problems...
(Drake changes them into characters from Robin Hood)
Drake: Oh come on, Robin Hood!
Paige: Oh you. I'm going to hire you just so I can fire you.
Piper: Do we look merry to you?
Drake: Well, perhaps you should see the world as Robin Hood would have. He believed in himself. He also loved the thrill of the fight.
(Drake is dressed as Cyrano de Bergerac)
Phoebe (to Paige): Look, I don't know why Cyrano is here, but he should probably leave because we have our own problems.
Drake (in a French accent): But my dear Roxanne, feel thou my soul, here... (he starts to gesture toward his crotch, then thinks better of it and clutches his heart)
Phoebe: You know, then again, I don't have a date for Valentine's Day and he is kind of hot.
Paige: He's hot until you figure out how many people he's killed.
Drake: Most of the world's greatest lovers were brought together during a time of epic conflict. Admittedly, most of them were doomed...
Paige: Have you guys seen the news?
Piper: No. Weren't you at Magic School?
Paige: Yeah...we have satellite.
Piper: Do I really need this today? Or ever?
Phoebe: We can't just let him go out there. Especially not with Sheridan back.
Piper: Sheridan's back?
Phoebe: Did I forget to mention that?
Ms. Donovan (to Paige): What are you waiting for? Vanquish him!
Drake: Vanqu—Lady, vanquish? Look, I just want a chance to make up for my demon days. If you don't believe me, then research me. Look into my history. I've got...almost nothing to hide.
Phoebe and Drake draw in for a kiss. The love music is heard in the background until screeching to a stop.
Piper: Get your paws, off of her!
Phoebe and Drake spin around backing away to find Paige with Piper.
Drake: So much for romance.
Phoebe: Piper! Ha ha! We were just having fun. You know... fun.
Piper: With the demon? Phoebe, how many times have I told you not to play dress-up with the demons?
Drake: I thought you had lots of experience with demons who were human. You married one didn't you?
Phoebe: Yes and how did you know that?
Paige (about Drake): He's very dramatic.
Phoebe: I see that...
Drake (describing the sisters): Paige needs to trust her instinct and believe in herself again. Phoebe, you need to remember what it feels like to do good, to love. And you honey (turning to Piper), you're just plain mean.
Piper: Ha, ha! You'd better watch it.
Paige: You helped Piper see love again. Thank you.
Drake (looking at Phoebe): I'm not done yet.
Phoebe blushes and giggles.
Paige: Okay, awkward moment for me there.
Paige (about the Book of Shadows): You touched it.
Drake: Oh my God, I did. So that must mean I'm good!
Drake: So do you like Gene Kelly movies?
Phoebe: Love them, why?
This episode scored 2.95 million viewers.
This episode aired February 12, 2005 in Canada.
Drake: That's gonna leave a mark.
This is the second episode of Charmed in a row with a quote from the movie Spaceballs in it. This line (actually an ad-lib) was said by Barf when he tried to stand up from his seat without undoing the seatbelt.
Drake: It is a poor player, who struts and frets...
He quoting a soliloquy, or monologue, from the classic play "Macbeth" that Ms. Donovan attempts to finish, but is interrupted by Drake. See also Act V, Scene V of William Shakespeare's "Macbeth".
Title: Carpe Demon
Reference to the saying "carpe diem" which is Latin for "seize the day".
Drake: Do you like Gene Kelly movies?
The specific Gene Kelly movie that Drake is referring to is "An American in Paris", where Kelly's American artist meets and falls in love with a French shop girl played by Leslie Caron. The dance that Drake and Phoebe do in front of the stairs is a recreation of Kelly and Caron's dance next to the Seine - right down to the costumes.
