Episode Recap

Prue is taking a picture of Piper staring out the window in the direction of Dan's house. Piper feels guilty because of the way things ended with Dan, but Prue assures her that she made the right choice. Piper leaves the living room to go shower for her date with Leo. Phoebe comes home in a good mood, and admits to Prue that she has been watching her favorite movie, Kill it Before it Dies, at the revival house. She also admits that her ideal man is the film's main character, Billy. Phoebe goes to answer the door and is thrown several feet away by a demon. Prue throws the demon against the grandfather clock with her powers and he runs away. Piper comes down the stairs to see Prue and Phoebe running after the demon. Prue and Phoebe have arrived at the revival house and are in the theatre for Kill it Before it Dies looking for the demon. Phoebe makes up an impromptu spell when she spots the demon and vanquishes him easily.

The girls are cleaning up the mess of the grandfather clock when Phoebe realizes that she recognized the demon from the theatre earlier. Piper is uneasy about how easy it was to vanquish the demon, but doesn't have time to worry because she's late for her date with Leo. Piper arrives at the restaurant where Leo has obviously been waiting for a long time; she apologizes. Leo has already ordered appetizers and when he searches for salt at the next table it is revealed to be Dan on a date. Piper is obviously miffed that he's there with a girl and moments later she freezes the whole restaurant. She unfreezes just Leo and takes a moment to vent before he is summoned by the Elders; Piper insists that he make a normal exit and not orb out and the date ends.

Prue is at work and her boss tells her that her next subject will be Finley Beck, Prue's inspiration. Beck arrives in typical celebrity fashion and is rude to star struck Prue. Phoebe comes home from class while Piper is in the kitchen and laments about her inability to find datable guys. Leo shows up to tell them about the demon of illusion whose goal is to spread violence in society. Phoebe determines that it's the same demon as the night before, and is very confused because they thought they vanquished him. They decide to call Prue and check the Book of Shadows before going back to the revival house. The girls go to the movie and the demon appears on the screen, and Prue's powers are useless against him. The two main characters from the movie appear on the screen, and Billy flirts with Phoebe momentarily. The demon insults the sisters and Billy tries to attack him, suddenly a black and white Billy and the demon are in the revival house with the girls.

Prue, Phoebe, Piper, Leo and Billy are in the attack trying to determine what the demon wants. Billy reveals that he spreads violence in society by entering movies and casting a spell over the audience. It only works in horror movies, because the audience at those is already open to violence. Prue and Piper leave to warn Darryl and when they reach the foyer Prue's phone rings, it's Finley Beck. He is on the front porch and insists on viewing Prue's photos of him; he enters the house and begins wandering through it as if he owns the place. In the revival house Axe Murderer is showing and the demon releases the villain from the screen and then casts a spell over the audience, making them angry.

Phoebe and Billy are in the attic and Phoebe is putting makeup on Billy's face to make him color, not black and white. Billy is telling her how he enjoys being free and not having to follow the script. The phone rings, interrupting their "moment," it's Morris calling to tell Phoebe thanks for the heads up on the movie theatre violence, thus alerting Phoebe to where the Demon of Illusion is. Downstairs Beck is giving Prue a hard time; Phoebe calls down and tries to hint about the demon troubles. Prue acknowledges Phoebe and promises to hurry. Beck critiques Prue's work rudely, and Prue makes a sarcastic quip back. Prue's film begins to burn because it's under a magnifying glass, and Beck begins to leave, but Prue calls him back and snaps a picture. Piper and Leo are in the movie theatre where Bloody Mary is playing, and Piper makes a flirtatious remark before the demon appears. He unleashes Bloody Mary and casts a spell over the audience.

In the attic Phoebe and Billy are making out while Prue is down in her dark room. She hears a noise and it's the Axe Murderer out to kill her. She tries to use her power against him, but can't. She knocks him over and runs into the attic, interrupting Phoebe and Billy. The Axe Murderer follows her and begins destroying the attic. Piper comes in and after hearing screams runs upstairs. Piper stabs the Axe Murderer and Phoebe identifies him before he gets up. They realize you can't kill something that isn't alive. Bloody Mary appears and stabs Billy, but it doesn't hurt him. The girls disperse around the house and Piper runs into the bathroom and hides in the shower. She cowers in the corner when someone comes in and it is Prue. They begin screaming, but calm down until Bloody Mary joins them in the bathroom. They dart out and run into Phoebe and Billy. Phoebe has figured out that the only way to kill the horror movie villains is to kill them the way they were killed in their movies. They are in the attic and Bloody Mary comes in. Phoebe uses her martial arts skills to flip her and send her flying out the window, as she was killed in the movie. They must electrocute the Axe Murderer; they lure him to the attic and Prue throws the heater at him and Piper douses him with a bucket of water, thus successfully killing him. They breathe a sigh of relief when Morris calls, but he says that the violence is spreading. Billy announces that the last showing of his movie is at midnight and that the demon will be there. They go to the film and Phoebe brings potions so she and Piper can get inside the movie with the demon. They realize that the movie is about to end with them in it.

Prue astral projects into the projector room and rewinds the film. She comes into her body and urges Phoebe and Piper to get out, and they do. Prue uses her telekinetic power to turn off the projector, thus burning the film the same way she had earlier in the dark room. Phoebe says her goodbye to Billy through the screen. In the living room Piper and Leo are cuddled on the couch reliving their date when the doorbell rings. It's Dan, returning all of her stuff. Piper and Dan part on good terms. Prue comes in irritated about her latest run in with Finley, but says that the picture she took of him was well received. Phoebe comes in and Prue gives her a gift, a copy of Kill it Before it Dies and Phoebe thanks her profusely. She runs upstairs to watch it, the show ends with her mouthing the words along with the movie.
